Re: Customize Your Supergroup

I'd like to see these two on stage:

Ian Siegal, guitar & vocals
Layla Zoe, vocals

Band members: Jens Filser (guitar), Henrik Freischlader (bass), Mr. Moritz Fuhrhop (hammond), Hardy Fischötter (drums)
Special guests: Tommy Schneller (sax), Kellie Rucker (harp)

My other dream team for an acoustic show would be:

Ryan McGarvey, guitar
Jens Filser, guitar
Martin Röttger, cajon

Special guest: Konstantin Reinfeld, harp

I'd stick an applaud smilie if I could to you and Kenny.  It's amazing how some of those early bands found each other and were just meant to play together.

They made it work so well big_smile

One of the new smilies I have asked for is a 'thumbs up'.....

Well "thumbs up" to you and boy you are quick.  I just posted this, lol.

I'll look forward to any that may appear, thanks Hammer smile

For me:

Izzy Stradlin - Rhythm Guitar
Phil Rudd - Drums
Paul Rodgers - Vocals
Eric Czar - Bass

(That's assuming we can't pick any of Joe's lineup!)

Eric Czar??? Really?? I don't really like his playing... Doesn't lay it down enough.... He plays up high too much... Plus I don't think he'd gel with a groover like Phil Rudd too well... Don't get me wrong Eric is good but doesn't suit the rest of the players you have chosen (IMO).

Eric Czar has various styles of playing.  He has no problem going low or grooving.  I will buy the ticket to his band   At least without Axl, I know I better be there on time wink

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ploZe8OQ_8U  This groove is so good it drives this song.

Glad to see both of you pick Paul Rodgers as your vocalist.  That's kind of a surprise for me, being that you both are so young and he was more of my generation. I'm thrilled that you both have heard of him.  Even if you didn't pick him, I think he would be pleased to know you both mentioned him.  I hope you both get to see one of his shows, either solo or with one of his groups.

Re: Customize Your Supergroup

I can list one of my supergroups.  There are so may great people I would love to see play together.
This is a great topic, love seeing James Dewar and Robin Trower's group was a supergroup for me.

My no. 1 is Paul Rodgers so he would have to be in Supergroup no. 1

Paul Rodgers - Vocals
Jeff Beck - Guitar
Jason Bonham- Drums
Eric Czar- Bass

I presume though that if he was still alive, Paul Kossoff on guitar. Now that would be awesome to behold.

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

I was thinking about this today and realized that I probably couldn't top what we already have.  Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Black Country Communion.

The voice of rock, the greatest working guitarist today, a chip off the biggest block in percussion, and a guy who's fingers are literally made of ivory.

Re: Customize Your Supergroup

As another Free fan I'm tempted to agree with Kenny, but I will set up a group with living musicians:-

Joe B and Andy Powell on twin lead guitars
Paul Rodgers on vocals (JB and AP can give him a help out if he needs it - I love both of their voices as well as their guitar playing!!)
Trevor Bolder on bass
Joey Parfumi on drums (in John Bonham's absence)
Jon Lord on keyboards

Good choices Linda. Would it surprise you to know that my fave bands growing up were :

Free
Rory Gallagher
Wishbone Ash
Led Zeppelin
Uriah Heep

Mine was virtually the same but swap Heap (although good) for Jethro Tull. Must both have great choice and taste. Explains Joe B then
