Topic: Eddie Hinton

I had heard about him, but not really.  Eddie was one of those jewels that came and went, flying under the radar.  Just recently got into his music and can't believe he never hit it real big.  I know the Allmans wanted him in their band and that he was a important writer and session guitarist at Muscle Shoals, but I'm scratching my head at this cat's singing and don't think I've heard a blacker white voice.  I've included a nice article about him and will try to put up a couple vids for those interested.

Re: Eddie Hinton

Another nice find Curby. I scratched this up. Really some soulful blues, Dylanesque even, and a seeming commentary on his life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9xUFfNN_jE
Another from Letters From Mississippi, Everyone Needs Love. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxmPWkA7 … re=related

Shouldn't feel bad - seems Eddie was an elusive fellow.  The more I look into him the more interesting it gets.  Apparently the Drive By Truckers are huge fans and have done a documentary of Hinton and a couple covers off their Goo Goo Boots album.  Here's a couple clips:
