Topic: George Harrison Demos and a Documentary

Had no intention of doing it, but found myself buying the George Harrison demos album after sampling the songs.  I also wasn't aware of the Martin Scorsese documentary until today.  I'll include the trailer (for those interested) and a vid off the album that I like.
As I've gotten older I've found myself appreciating George Harrison more.  He'll always be the third banana in the greatest band of my generation, but these days the lyrics to his songs seem to speak to me in a loud voice.  I've always been drawn to demo versions of songs for the primitive arrangements.  I also prefer the acoustic living room sound versus over-produced studio renditions.

Thought I'd add this story about George's visit to his older Sister in September 1963.  Benton, Illinois is near my hometown and has a very colorful history in itself.

Scorses's documentary is excellent, I went out and bought "All things Must pass" after watching it.

- and do not forget George's work on Handmade Films, a friend of a friend worked for him at that company, she would tell of how much of shy regular guy he was - without George the funniest film EVER made "Life of Brian" would not exist.

Watched the Documentary twice....so far. Loved it, George was an incredible spiritual being. one of my all-time Beatle faves is If I Needed Someone, love the 12 string intro.

Was wondering where it all was going to end, or stop and this will be my last post for a while.  I'm really enjoying these old songs of Mr. Harrison and wish cancer hadn't taken him so young.  George will never be confused with the guitar gods of his era, but boy the lad could play.
I thought I could last three more weeks till John Mayer releases his "comeback" album, but I'm afraid I can't.  I've already gone on record saying it'll be my album of the year and will stand by it. 
This is not a goodbye, but rather a break from participation.

I enjoyed the documentary very much. George was such a unique guy, loved his witty sense of humor. Curby, thanks for the links about his sister's house...hang in there.
