Geko  - I can't imagine what you are feeling now - we are very sorry for your loss.
Roy is right - your friend is listening to Joe up in heaven - and other great musicians
too - there must be an awfully great band up there.  Duane, Jimmy, Janis, SRV and
hundreds of others.

Dear Geko, I'm so sorry you lost your buddy. It's never easy! Hope his death was peaceful. He will always be with you and will no doubt smile down on you. Tell his stories and have a laugh. The deeper the sorrow, the more joy you can contain..." Kahlil Gibran "The Prophet" Cathy

Re: bad news from my site .........

Geko,

I'm sure all Joe fans think the same. I know from my own experience that you can find a lot of comfort in music.
I lost my parets and my sister from cancer and it's hard, specially having 2 wonderful children and they never saw them, makes me still cry sometimes.

When they died I played one song:

Thin Lizzy- Still in love with you    from CD Live and dangerous.
Maybe stupid but it's their song from that moment on and it helps me through the bad moments.

I will try make a CD for you and Willy with music that helped me.

I really feel very sorry for you, put on Thin lizzy now and think of all the good people that passed away. I certainly will cry again, but that's o.k.

I believe that if you don't cry , it says something about yourself and the relationship you had with the person that passed away.

See you in October.

A big hug,

Andre Wittebroek.

Re: bad news from my site .........

Geko,

I share your pain my friend.  I had a professor/friend here at Clarkson that I was on very good terms with who passed away last Friday from cancer as well.  A very energetic and happy person, but also a brilliant scientist.  I'm deeply sorry for the loss of your friend, but I feel the best (at least what I did) is to pour a beer, raise you glass up in honor, cherish the memories...and always try to live your life as full as you can!  Cheers mate!

Re: bad news from my site .........

My heart beats the rough rhythm of pain and sorrow today also Geko. I lost my first cousin, the sister of my first cousin I lost in 2003, both only in their forties, last Thursday.  I am in Orlando, and it is not magical today (grieving with family), otherwise I could bring them back.  Fortunately I am grateful for the memories I CAN bring back, even if they invoke tears...I always thnk of my Grandfather when I hear Asking Aound For You, epsecially due to the playing cards reference.  He was the greatest poker player & could of put many of these poker "superstars" to the curb...
he's been gone 34 years and I still miss him terribly.  Up to the time he died, I would never cry about anything.  Now it's weird not to cry over anything....Dog the Bounty Hunter episodes...let's stop there. Good blues, rock, soul,, even country rap & classical, more than anything else music pulls me back into happiness. A close second is a good laugh.  Anyone in need of happiness today-I pray it comes your way.  I'll start with prayers for your friends' family, friends, and especially you Geko.

Rock On & Keep the Faith,
Rocket

P.S.-I just put on CCR-Down On the Corner (Willy & the Poor Boys), Stevie Ray Vaughn-Willy the Wimp (hope your Willy's coffin isn't a Cadillac), and even The Sweet-Little Willy
