Topic: Hello from Glasgow!

Hello everyone! This is a great forum and I've already posted on one or two wee topics, but I've only just seen this one so here goes!

I'm Kathie, or any variation on Kathryn you can think of. I'm 23 and living.studying in Glasgow, but I'm originally from Warrington though my entire family is Welsh. (I can't really speak much welsh myself)

I mainly love classic rock and metal and I got into Joe through Planet Rock Radio and listening to his show, I remember hearing Sloe Gin and just being completely blown away, so now I'm a huge huge fan and have managed to get my parents into him as well. My boyfriend was already a huge fan because he's a guitarist as well and generally has an amazing radar for finding good music (he got me into the Answer). We're seeing him live in Edinburgh next week and I'm far too excited for my own good.

I do play music myself. I'm a flute player/singer.

Don't let the avatar fool you, I know 3 chords and play them to a very average standard.

But I'm in a folk/rock band and we do folky covers of rock/blues/metal/prog songs (The Battle For Hadrian's Wall by BCC is a new one).

I'm about to graduate from Glasgow uni with an honours degree in Geology/Earth Science, but then I have no idea what I'll be doing.

As far as I'm concerned when I "grow up" I'll be a penguin.

Hey mister Jelly Roll baker can I please be your slave?!

Welcome from a Yorkshireman who is on missionary work converting Lancastrians to the ways of the world. Seriously though, welcome to the forum.

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Hello from Glasgow!

Welcome to the forum Kathie. A penguin sounds good, I wish I had thought of that, probably too late now? Anyway, enjoy the gig next week, you are in for a treat - be prepared for a life-changing experience, if that makes any sense at all!

Re: Hello from Glasgow!

I think it's never too late to grow up and become a penguin. It makes perfect sense to me! I'm getting more and more excited about it as it gets nearer!
