Re: What makes you cry ?

The F&%$ing neighbor dogs got into my yard and killed my cat.

My fluffy princess Pepper was murdered.  No one was here to save her or protect her.

I am soo very sad....and so very angry.

Re: What makes you cry ?

Lately it's been the life of a local kid that I've never met.  I have a grandson his age.  I'd be shocked if anyone could read this journal and not cry.  He's doing well though, thanks to science and, I believe, the prayers of many people - mostly strangers.

Wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry - opted for the latter .

Re: What makes you cry ?

First reaction was to be lighthearted about my answers....then, what the heck...completely honest:

The passing of my dad this year
Going through dementia with my mom this year...moving her into assisted living
Selling mom and dad's home
Home movies of my kids
Wounded soldier stories
Any time I've lost a pet
Commercials of needy children
Commercials of abused dogs/cats
When it's at its worse....debilitating pain

Watching the Iron Man Hawaii race. Forget about the physical aspects of it - the mental toughness of these athletes is over the top and awe-inspiring.

Re: What makes you cry ?

Watching my wife, the love of my life, struggle to maintain the fight and me unable to protect her.  At this point all I can do is pray she gets better.  I've been meaning to say something here about her status, but I didn't want to depress anyone.  I'm probably going to take another break from this forum, but I'll be back.  There are too many sweet people to not share stuff with.

Re: What makes you cry ?

You and your wife's plight have been on my mind for a while. Forum love and strength to you both.

You are not going to depress anyone here Scott, there are too many caring people. Without getting religious on anyone, I'll say that the power of prayer is real and highly underrated. My ex-wife (my son's real mother) has been battling cancer now for about 3 years. They have stopped the chemo because her body can no longer tolerate the side affects. The doctors have given her 6 to 12 months, that's it. She is a great person and I'm just as torn up as Arthur IV.
I will join in sending prayer and forum love your way, from Jimmy V - DON'T GIVE UP, DON'T EVER GIVE UP. Send me an email any time if you want to chat or get something off your chest. Be well yourself my forum friend and spend as much time as you can with her.

Oh man, I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. As I'm sure you'll remember, I've been down this road, and therefore perfectly understand what you're going through right now. I am available at any time, should you feel the need to ask anything, or to just vent. I can empathize with you because I've been in those very shoes, but for everything else you should really take advantage of the most wonderful and wise counsellor that we have on these matters, and get in touch with Cathy.

I wish you strength and fortitude, and the best imaginable outcome for your wife, with whom you will hopefully be able to spend as much time as possible.

Much love,

George

Hi Curby,  You are such a wonderful husband and friend to your wife.  ♥ Your love for her is felt in your messages and I wish you  strength, love, and hope.  We are all behind you and it puts all the silly things in life we fret and stew over into perspective.  God Bless You Both and I will continue to pray for her and you.  Please continue to post here, we are your family and want to help in any way we can.  Big hugs to your sweet wife ♥ and a hug for you, too!

I wish i knew what made me cry so I could have a better handle on it. Sad things and happy things make me cry. Sometimes one thing will make me cry one time but not another. Sometimes really seemingly simple things make me cry and the more i try not to the more I cry. Most of the time music can help gain control over it.

Same here.. that makes me forget when was the last time I cried.. a bit emotional and tears starts to fall even with just a simple thing.
