Topic: Pre order from Amazon

Hi all,

I am acting on an idea for making Sloe Gin a chart topping success. Amazon is obviously one of the more high profile online sellers of music both here and abroad. If we all campaigned to order from Amazon instead of spreading out to the various sellers around it could impact Sloe Gin's ranking on the Amazon chart.

I ran the idea by the boss and got the green light. Let's get busy. Time to stuff those ballot boxes again.

We got it covered! Anything else, let us know.

Re: Pre order from Amazon

This is an important initiative ---

Amazon is normally competitive on their pricing. I haven't done a price comparison but I would suggest that if they are not the cheapest (but are within reason) that ALL copies of "Sloe Gin" be purchased through this source.

If you have already pre-ordered somewhere else, you can cancel and place your order with Amazon.

If you haven't, time to order all potentially needed copies in advance from Amazon.

A decent ranking in CD sales for "Sloe Gin" can bring added exposure to the CD and of course Joe.

This is the perfect type of initiative for the street team to be involved in because your actions today will yield tangible results.

Let's make this happen!

Re: Pre order from Amazon

Wow, $14.99 in the states on Amazon.com and £15.49 from Amazon.co.uk over here! That's some price difference, given the exchange rate. May be cheaper buying direct from Amazon in the US, in bulk and having them shipped to the UK!! Now that would make a difference to the sales figures on the billboard chart!!!! I think I should open an agency!

This is exactly what I have been looking for Jim, and posted earlier, some united Street Team effort with Joe's approval.  Now we can all have a positive influence.  Will pre-order muliple copies tomorrow...

Re: Pre order from Amazon

There was an earlier thread about where the best place to buy and it got me thinking the Street Team needs to get united on this. Granted buying from Joe directly is better financially for them and Soundscan tallies those sold as well which will help his Billboard charting. Charting #1 on the blues chart is a good thing.  Charting high among all genre's is a possibility on Amazon. Joe is already a big fish in the blues pond he needs to be introduced to the masses. He already appeals to a fanbase outside of the blues but this album should help bring more music fans in general into the fold.  Being a top seller will get people to sample the songs. I know they will like what they hear.

Re: Pre order from Amazon

This sounds like a great plan.
Thanks all for the links and the info.
I'll be pre-ordering from Amazon as soon as I can!

Re: Pre order from Amazon

Great idea.  I just got my order in for 4 copies.

Re: Pre order from Amazon

Question to the forum members.  If we pre-order from Amazon, will we get the order on Aug. 21st or it will be shipped out on Aug. 21st?

Thanks,

Dean

Usually you get it the day of the release.  That is how some things have worked out before ordering off of Amazon, but don't quote me!!!

Re: Pre order from Amazon

Hey Stu, I hear ya. I think we all will be buying many copies and can afford to spread our business. But,I think Jim's point re Amazon charts not being as delineated leading to Joe making a list other than "blues sales" is important. In the past, when I have preordered cd's, I've gotten a few prior to the release date. That would be very nice!! Cathy

Just ordered my copy of Sloe Gin along with KWS's 10 Days Out CD/DVD combo off the Amazon website. Thanks Jim and PC for the info and website address.

KWS's 10 Days Out is well worth it, very interesting piece of work.   We saw them come around a couple of months ago and it was great to see Hubert Sumlin and Brian Lee.

Re: Pre order from Amazon

Yeah it's good to spread things around so speak.  So I have pre-ordered several copies from Amazon, then I will hit the local FYE to get a copy or two from there as well.  It all adds up to record sells...

Re: Pre order from Amazon

Gentlemen, remember why we are here. Thank God for all of you!! You are the spine. Stu, you are needed. Many times Street Team members have posted their frustrations..we willingly await "orders", and will try to do what is asked of us. In return we want information and beg for hand-outs..Like I said, we're ready...and united....Cathy

Re: Pre order from Amazon

I love the information I get from this forum.  Every one has an amazing knowledge base.  I asked in an earlier post......

does it matter where we purchase them?  I want Joe to get as much $$ as he can.  I'm a little new to all of this, and never really paid to much attention.  But after meeting Joe, want to do as much as possible to support him.  Is it just a numbers game?  or is there a $$ margin to consider?

thinking maybe it is the dollars that needed to be considered, but I have to agree that the exposure that the numbers give, will reap greater rewards in the long run.
I have always just purchased CD's for myself, but now, purchase Joe's music for gifts for friend and family.
I will always support my local stores, but will pre order from Amazon to get those initial numbers up there.

You guys rock!!!!!   Keep all of this up, for a new user it's pretty incredible to see the passion that Joe's music stirs up in all of us!~

Re: Pre order from Amazon

I just got back from my local F.Y.E. and checked to make sure they'd be getting plenty of "Sloe Gin" on the 21st. The salesclerk assured me they'll be in stock. I told her to hold on to 4 copies for me . So I'll be getting mine at F.Y.E. on Aug. 21st ,can't wait !! .....  Paul/JBrules

Re: Pre order from Amazon

Sorry to those who's posts were lost as a result of deleting mine. I should have not vented after a long day. In hindsight I felt my post appeared negative towards the Street Team in general, and that was not my intent. I'll apologize to Melissa off-board. Thanks, Stu

Re: Pre order from Amazon

Something I found strange: The ones in charge of the Street Team were conspicuously silent on this issue.
