Topic: Saarbrücken, March 6, 2012

The second time I saw Joe and the boys in 5 months, after the October 10th show in Luxembourg. The show in Saarbrücken was great again, but how on earth can you set up chairs for a concert like this? There were about 1500 people at the show. They put up 1600 chairs, but not all of them were taken at the back, so 1400-1500 is a good guess probably. We managed to stay seated for about 1,5 minutes, and then had to get up and move forward. All of a sudden we were 5 m from the stage instead of 35, and we could see every detail. Fantastic. Joe should have called the crowd up front way earlier, but he did so just for the last song, "Just got paid". What a great finale! Sound quality at the venue, which is an old factory building, was mediocre.

I seriously considered buying  the guys on stage a few beers, but when Joe later told the crowd that he had to take a pee for about 1 hour and a half so badly I thought "Good not to have offered them a beer, his bladder would have exploded :-)"
Joe wanted to go shopping during the day, but found none of the stores were open. The same thing happened in Luxembourg a few months back , where Joe came into this massive shopping mall just across from the Rockhal, and all the shops were closed too. Poor Joe, never gets a chance to spend his money.

Anyway, thanks for a nice evening again, and hope to see you around sooner or later. Keep it up!

Welcome to the forum rosch, and a big thanks for the review. I love the bladder story. I've often wondered if that was ever an issue for non-stop Joe. Now I know. smile  As for the shopping, I think food is often an issue. There was a story about him walking back with a sub from Subway. He passed a homeless guy who ogled his bag. Of course, Joe gave it to him. I've seen him give up food in order to meet his fans needs before a show too. It sounds like this tour is running smoothly out of the gate and the band is having fun!      Cathy

Enthusiastic review in Rocktimes - except the fact that Joe mentioned the wrong beer brand: Bitburger is NOT brewed in Saarbrücken.

Great review if not a little difficult in google English translation. A great set list as well. Only two weeks to my next concert. I'd be more than happy with that set list. Best of the translation was the description of the guitars. Excellent and thanks.

The same reviewer writes: "Das Gary Moore-Stück "Midnight Kiss"" lol
Sorry for being a pedant. smile

Read this article yesterday and once again today. This article is right on the mark.
It could have been in Essen at the Grugahalle except Joe's speach where he didn't speak about beer but GOLD in Germany.
