That is honestly the greatest most heartfelt guitar story I have ever heard of..  It is so nice that Peter has it back after all these years.

Yes a great story....Gibson had it on their website the other day about the plane crash etc......it's finally home with him..

Just watched the video again from the Beacon and I realized why I love Joe's and Peter's playing so much as they are so different in nature. I followed Humble Pie from it's beginnings through to comes alive and more recent recordings including While my guitar gently weeps. I recently realized, I may be wrong but, Joe is blues based which I love deeply, Peters has a jazz flavour which I usually don't get. But his form I do. I think both are superb and I probably prefer Joe's blue/rock much more however I first heard Peter with the Herd, which was 60's which is what Peter must be now. If you didn't listen to all 18 minutes try again see if you agree.

Guitar Aficionado Magazine had a HUGE spread on the back story and how he got it back. The guitar survived a plane crash!
