I've concluded he's either happy just as things are OR his management team needs to be fired! I say this for countless reasons...like signing up for his mailing list and never getting anything...
Nice guy, HUGE talent & gorgeous guitars. His performances have a way of dropping my blood pressure, just totally relaxing to listen to.
Sandy, you live in a great location to see Johnny frequently.

I saw Johnny A quite a few years ago - totally different than seeing Joe (I had never heard of Joe at the time) but enjoyed it. I think he was opening for Derek Trucks - talk about an awesome night of guitar music.
Here is a picture from this show: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24057301@N … 8449443206 Almost 3 years ago - Joe's opening night for that year on his way to RAH.

Angela I have my opinions on why he isn't more popular I have had Johnny here numerous times and he just never grew his audience.
There is a limited audience for what he does for one thing. His marketing skills are old school. He is his own management other than booking. Rosebud is his booking agent. He was involved with a lawsuit with Favored Nations his label for a couple of years and it killed any momentum he had.
Johnny is his own worst enemy but won't elaborate on that here. He has made an effort on Facebook to connect recently but has not been consistent. I love his records and his live show but he isn't the best hang I have had if you know what I mean.
I had him do a clinic for guitar students here and he really was great. I suggested he do that whenever possible he did a great job telling stories and playing with a Q and A session. He just doesn't connect at his shows. At least not at mine.
