Re: Ron Sayer Jr.

Indeed Curby - pleased to see you are still on the lookout for interesting new artists - old habits die hard.........

Ron certainly looks like one to keep an eye on - haven't seen him play live yet, but hope to, some time soon.

Thanks to Tripsy for the heads up and the vids of the Scarborough gig............

Re: Ron Sayer Jr.

thanks eldo, I really like it. Anybody that plays a Tele like that will get my attention, do love the rockabilly feel.

Re: Ron Sayer Jr.

Ron is a super talent and darn nice guy, hoping. Have him open for us if we can get a gig close to his location.

Yes Martin - I'm sure he'd go down really well with your audience!!

I like his style - Robben Ford-ish to my ear and funnilly enough, seen here doing Indianola:

Re: Ron Sayer Jr.

yep, sounding very much like Robben on the first of the sampler, and when it changes again at about the 5:08 mark the little bridge part I think sounds a lot like Who Do You Think You Are from Renegade Creation's first. He has a very decent voice as well. I will pursue getting this in short order. Thanks again Eldo.

Re: Ron Sayer Jr.

I'll go out on a limb and assume that's not someone just using his name. So, welcome to the site Ron, always great to have another talented guitarist here. Post often as you'd like and keep us up on what your doing. I believe you will enjoy the Bonafamily because we really appreciate our blues well done.

Re: Ron Sayer Jr.

Thanks for the kudos Eldo! Very much appreciate the post :-) certainly could do with all the exposure we can get! Really glad you're all liking the stuff, thank you.

And cheers for the welcome AHSmith33! The EP has since turned into a full album (Better Side) and we'll be promoting it in earnest this month. So....hopefully some gigs will follow :-)

I am indeed a Robben Ford fan (though I'll admit to never having heard any Renegade Creation, will look it up) I also love Sean Costello, Chris Cain, Tab Benoit, Matt Schofield and Greg Koch, not to mention Joe of course.

Just to fill you in, my new band were just starting out in 2010, we supported Buddy Whittington, Popa Chubby, Walter Trout, Aynsley Lister  and Chantel McGregor when I took a hiatus to tour the globe (on bass guitar) with Oli Brown for the year. I also co-wrote his new album Here I Am (out this April I believe) Oli and I go way back as I used to teach him and let him jam with my trio back when he was 16/17.

So back to the present, after the last Oli Brown tour with John Mayall I decided it was high time I 'got the ol' band back together' (Blues Brothers style) and get an album done. Will certainly keep anyone who's interested up to date with gigs :-) would be great to see you.

Welcome!

Re: Ron Sayer Jr.

Hey! Just a quick heads up to those who are interested. Just had several support slots with Henrik Frieschlader, Erja Lyytinen, Chantel McGregor and Virgil & The Accelerators come in. Check the website for details if you fancy an evening of six string tomfoolery :-)

Thanks for the welcome Viper007 :-D

Re: Ron Sayer Jr.

that's great news Ron, really good artists like these will get you some added exposure for sure. Wish I was over there to catch some of them, especially with VATA. Good luck with it and do keep us informed.

Re: Ron Sayer Jr.

I saw Ron about 18 months ago when he opened up for Chantel McGregor at Norwich Arts Centre, and bought the EP after the show. A really good band, and its well worth getting there early if Ron and the guys are opening up the show. Great news that Ron is opening up for Chantel again at the Beaverwood and Boom Boom Club in April. I'll be at both of those shows.

Yes - should be a great show - I guess Ron will be on stage about 8pm, followed by Chantel at about 9-9.30pm..................
