Topic: Outlaws Webcast

Did anybody happen to catch The Outlaws webcast from TRI Studios tonight? They did Matt Schofield last week and owner Bob Weir's side band Ratdog last night. These shows are very cool, just sit down @ your computer and watch the equivalent of an intimate club gig. The Outlaws were back in the southern groove playing several cuts from a soon to be released album and everything else was a setlist outta the '70's. A little sad though to hear those songs without Hughie Thomasson playin'. Great show overall. Bummed I didn't know they were gigging in Mill Valley tomorrow night till it was sold out. Hearin' those tunes warmed the chamber of my heart that has been dedicated to Southern Rock for a long long time.

Re: Outlaws Webcast

J. Dawg, do you know if the show will be available to watch anywhere else online at some point.

Would love to have seen it. I believe Henry Paul is the driving force these days isn't he.

Man I loved that band. My only chance of seein Hughie thes days is on LS's 'Vicious Cycle' live dvd. Unfortunately he doesn't do much singing on that which is a shame 'cos he had one of those truly unique and instantly recognisable voices.

He was a great player though. Very understated in his style.

Keep me posted on the new album. I always enjoyed The Outlaws early career incarnations the best with that southern feel.

Re: Outlaws Webcast

dammit I missed it too Dawg. I got to see Ratdog in 2001-2002?, they were tremendous to me and I'm not really a dead fan. These are some great shows if anything like Matt's, I'll keep on alert to check the site. I would like to see both of them if run again.

Re: Outlaws Webcast

Check their website and get on the e mail list for upcoming shows. They also have a video page with vids of past performances, nothing on the Outlaws yet, but may be coming. No replay on last nights show like Matt's was. There was a recorded interview after the show and Henry Paul said they hoped to have the new stuff mixed and out by late March. There was a new studio album with Hughie, but I don't think it ever got released due to his untimely passing.
