You are correct sir.  Good job

The Answer: Tom Dowd

I didn't know that till I read Vintage Guitar.  Very cool and Tom is respected.
In my opinion he changed the face of music.  Music would be a lot different if there wasn't a Tom Dowd.  Tom is responsible for an album that inspired many guitar players......Creams Direali Gears. We might not have Eric Clapton either because Tom really gave Eric confidence to sing.  Eric was already well know as a guitar player.  But not many solo guitar artist that dont sing out there.  Outside Women Blues is an amazing song, a true classic with an awesome hook.  Imagine if JB covered that?  So if Tom hadn't giving Eric the confidence to sing who knows where we would be.   Might not have a Joe Bonamassa?
And not to get too far off topic, the newest live Cream album live at Albert Hall.  The "sound" is HUGE.  I recommend it.  Great sound for a live album

Maybe Joe can post about his experience with Tom.

Check out the dvd "Tom Dowd and the Language of Music."  Very entertaining look at the life and music of an amazing man.  Joe also appears quickly doing a little riffing so that's pretty cool, too.  A must have in my opinion.

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

The Language of Music is phenomenal.  I reccommend it to anyone.  Tom Dowd has an amazing life story, and the fact that the DVD touches upon his producing experience with John Coltrane, Joe Bonamassa, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Charles Mingus, Ornette Coleman, The Allman Brothers Band, Cream, Derek & The Dominoes and Les Paul ain't bad either!
