Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

Thanks to Cliff D. for providing the set list for the Seattle, December 15 show.

Cliff got to sit in the BonaBlastZone and as I was getting ready to stand in the "Photo Pass" area next to the stage to take pics of the first three songs, when Cliff came up to me and called me by my name, Bad Kitty!  Then he identified himself (he's a Facebook friend and BonaBuddy who I've never met in person before)--I had never seen his picture because his FB pic is of a goat with braces on it's teeth grinning really big!  LOLOL  Bonabuddies are awesome!

I ask you, how many musicians play a solid 2-1/2 hour show consisting of 17 songs?  The show just flows from one powerhouse song to the next!  WOWOWOWZER!!!

Cradle Rock
When The Fire Hits The Sea
Midnight Blues
Slow Train
Dust Bowl
Better Watch Yourself
Sloe Gin
Ballad Of John Henry
Lonesome Road Blues
Happier Times
Steal Your Heart Away
Blues Deluxe
Young Man Blues
Woke Up Dreaming
Django/Mountain Time

Encore:
Bird On A Wire
Just Got Paid

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

What a great show. We got to go to the meet and greet. Joe is a great guy who truly cares about his fans and, I think, is truly gratefull to be able to play the music he loves for a living.

Joe commented that the first time he played Seattle, he played in front of15-20 people and he was "thrilled and honored" to play in front of 3,000 in a sold out Paramount theatre.

He put on a great show and I really enjoyed the energy between him and his band. One thing that caught my eye was his amp set up was much different than the last time I saw him here in Missoula in 2008. He had 6 heads and 3 cabinets. He has 2 Category 5's, a Trainwreck, a Van Weelden, a SLP Marshall, and another Marshall - ?JCM 800 maybe. What I didn't see was his trademark "Silver" Jubilee's .

Lots of great guitars and a night I won't soon forget.  Thanks Joe

TMCGUIRE - You are so right about everything you just posted!!  It's funny you mentioned the Silver Jubilee's!  The first thing when we walked into the Paramount, when my hubby Lil Eddie walked me down to the stage photo pass area, he said, "Hey, where are Joe's Silver Jubilee's???"  Great minds think alike, no?

Did you come all the way from Montana just for Joe's show?  If so, I understand the addiction and appreciation of Joe's music...it just draws you in and never lets go!  LOLOL

I did. We flew from Missoula just for the show. Joe came here in 2008, but hasn't been back , so this was the closest show for me.

Well, that was the plan anyway. I was offered a couple comp tix by mgmt so I didn't buy any, and then of course the show sold out. Unfortunately I was unable to reach anyone in the J&R camp to confirm the arrangements the last few days leading up to the show (the offer had been extended back in Feb or March) and we didn't want to take time off work, make the trip, fight the traffic, parking etc. on a gamble that we would get in. Maybe next time :-)

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

Thanks everyone for the videos, it was great to re-live bits of the show. Seattle Paramount my first time seeing Joe live, but most definitely won't be my last. Perhaps I need to go visit my long-lost cousin in Reno sometime in April...
