Topic: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

I just can't tell you how much Lil' Eddie and I are looking forward to Joe's show...in 3, yes 3, days!!!  December 15 can't come soon enough!

We haven't seen Joe perform since March 5, 2010 and we are having serious withdrawals!  LOLOL  I'm posting in the forum early so I can fill in the set list and highlights after the show or on Friday!I was thrilled to see Blues Deluxe on the set list in Yakima so hope that carries over to Seattle.  No matter what the song, they are all awesome and we are looking forward to a great show.

I'll see you at the edge of the stage Joe (well, for the first three songs that is!!) -- with my new Nikon D7000 (and press pass) ready to capture your talent to share with the world!

Stay tuned Bonabuddies!  I'll be baaaack!

Edited Post to Include My "Review" of the Show...see below in this post.

There is a place called "BonaHeaven" and that is where we are still after seeing Joe perform at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle December 15!

For those who have been to one of Joe's shows, you know that the Joe Glow does NOT wear off overnight...it takes several days and even then, the experience is one that you never forget! The audience was awesome and extremely appreciative of Joe's impressive talent and showmanship. Tal outdid himself on the drums (OMG!!! First time I've seen him play live since the last show we attended in Seattle was March 2010 and Bogie was still Joe's drummer then--and HE IS awesome too). Carmine burned up his bass guitar and Rick tickled the heck out of those ivories!

Joe has surrounded himself with really awesome people in addition to the band, (Dennis and Bob to name just two) and it is a pleasure to chat with them and hear that they enjoy working with Joe and respect the heck out of the guy. Not everyone can say that about their employer (or someone they work alongside)!

There is just something magical about watching Joe perform and interact with the band and the audience.  He creates this connection by being himself--cool, calm, collected, and AWESOME!!  We thoroughly enjoyed all of the songs Joe and the band performed but our personal fav is Blues Deluxe since that was the first song we EVER heard Joe perform.  We did not have any issues with sound or our seats.  The balcony seats we had were dead center so using my telephone lens, I was able to get some great shots not only of Joe but of the band.  Thanks Joe for entertaining all of us with everything you had!

After the show, Lil' Eddie and I had the BonaBanner by the merchandise table (thanks BOB!) and about 40 people signed it.  There were people there that were BonaVirgins and now they are BonaBelievers!  It was so sweeeeet listening to them talk about the show.  About 11:15 pm, Joe came out of the Paramount and there were 12 of us standing in the drizzle waiting for him.  Katie Blue told me to tell Joe she was sad she didn't get to meet him in person yet, but maybe someday at the WhooDooVooDooLounge on another trip!  When I mentioned her name, Joe said he loved her pictures (I'm assuming he was referring to the ones of her with JoeBobble)!  Joe was a gentleman with everyone who had waited to simply shake his hand, say hi, sign a guitar, have a picture taken with him, sign the Fuzz Face, etc.  And that, everyone, is why we love Joe!  Hopefully the after the show, by the bus mini meets never end!  All in all, a good wrap up to a wonderful night of Bonamassa Blues Rock!!

My new Nikon D7000 clicks off 6 frames per second so I have over 500 pictures to review so it will be a bit before I post them! A quick look at the pics I took, showed that I need more time with my camera and it's many manual settings to end the blurry pics. I did manage to get some good ones when I switched back to auto (sorry Dave!!) so I would at least have SOME pics to remind me of the show. hehehehe

Yep! On Cloud 9 in BonaHeaven!  We can't wait until the next show and I hope to meet Tal and talk to Carmine and Rick too.  BTW, saw Rick in the elevator at the Paramount and said "Hi, it's Bad Kitty."  He said "You're a bad kitty," and my Lil' Eddie said, "Yes, she's a bad, bad kitty!"

More to come later--pics... Bad Kitty

With seats like that (and if Yakima is any indication) Bad Kitty, you had better have a surgeon on stand by to re-attach your jaw after it hits the floor!  I am using the couple days in between to recuperate and get ready for another knockout performance.

Wow, just looked at the set list from Yakima, and I hope it's close to the same for Seattle, which would be awesome!!  Can't wait!!

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

If you are coming to the Seattle show, I am the bearer of the BonaBanner and hope to have anyone who reads this post, help us hold the banner, outside, inside, and wherever else we can get BonaBuddies to sign it and take pictures with it.  It would nice if we could get our picture with the banner with THE MAN on December 15!

Please let me know (see number below) if you'll be at the Seattle show.  Lil' Eddie & I unfortunately have balcony seats (very bummed about that) but I will be shooting pictures for the first three songs so at least get to be within an arms-length of the stage!

We are in section MEZZ13, Row D, Seats 5 and 6.
Stop by and see us!

A/H - thanks for removing my number--what the heck WAS I thinking!  LOLOL

I just wanted to say as I briefly mentioned in the first post that I used to start this thread, that our seats couldn't have been better unless we sat in the BonaBlastZone (rows 1-5 center main floor) which we love and would rather be in.  The balcony seats were dead center and the view and sound were fantastic.  NO complaints at all although next time if the show is at the Paramount again, I would like to sit in the BonaBlastZone! (heeheeheehee)

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

Bad Kitty, as posted above, I took the liberty of removing your phone number from your post - I honestly don't think it's wise to post phone numbers on an open forum where anyone can see them. I will be happy  to re-post your number if you want me to, but would advise against it. I have sent your number to Faraz, though you may already have given it to her.

I am particularly stoked about this show for two reasons - first, because our major north-west Bonabuddy and Bonanut hasn't seen Joe for so long and will be catching her first sight of Tal, and secondly because I finally (after years of working on her!) persuaded an old and dear friend in Seattle to go and get Bonabaptized. I will ask my friend, Faraz, to come and share her reaction after the show. wink

I've been to the Paramount many times and I prefer the balcony over floor seating. Much better view and acoustics. I've been to too many concerts where being too close to the stage is a big disadvantage. I'll be there in about 26 hours for my first JB concert. I'm stoked.

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

JWD, if tomorrow night is anything like Sunday in Yakima, you are in for a life-altering treat.  Laurie and I are still grinning - and we'll be there tomorrow too big_smile

Thanks for posting the set list for Yakima. I hope it's the same for Seattle. 25 hours and counting.

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

I was completely blown away by the show yesterday. Absolutely stellar performance by Joe and his team. I also had MEZZ13 seats and the sound was the best I've ever heard at live performance (except maybe for the first 2-3 songs, they must have adjusted something later on).

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

My wife and I were there last night, and it was amazing.  Have to admit, it was a little loud and distorted in our seats 3rd row center main floor, but the visuals of the stage and the performance made up for it.  The crowd was incredible, and I think Joe was very pleased....

Really, really want Joe to come back to Seattle on the next tour.

Happy Holidays to  Joe and the band!!

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

Awesome show indeed. First time I got to see Joe perform live and it was amazing. I have a couple videos I took, first of which I put up on Youtube. Hope it's alright to include a link here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-Hu67OKpv0

Video quality is so-so since I had to be stealthy about recording it with the Paramount's strict 'absolutely no video recording of any kind' policy, and my getting caught earlier, recording a clip of Midnight Blues (which I will post later).

Is there a specific spot on the forums to post concert photos, or should I just include them in this thread?

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

Welcome to the forum Whookam. Thanks for the report. Your included link for the vid (thanks for the vid by the way.) is correct. If you want to post pictures, use the photo section. If you like, go over to the intro section and tell us about how and where you first found out about Joe and a bit about yourself if you don't mind.

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

Yes, another knockout performance - same setlist as Yakima.  We had slightly better seats than in Yakima, and I thought the sound was a little better in Seattle also.   A very warm and appreciative crowd, and I think Joe and the band felt that.    A superlative performance in every way.  We had invited 3 other couples along for their first JB concert and I am pretty sure there are a few more new JB fans this morning big_smile

Re: Seattle Joe Show - December 15, 2011

Yes, there were quite a few converts in Portland as well....Joe has hit cruising speed...Probably 2-4 thousand seat venues from now on...
