Sweet!  You will be blown away and hopelessly addicted afterwards!  Know anyone that would like to buy an extra ticket.  Excellent seat for face value.  I had a dropout at the last minute.

Thanks apex electric
I will check around

Re: Paramount Theater, Denver 4/24/12

Flew in from California for this show and it was incredible. It was my first time seeing Greg Koch, who JB calls the best guitarist in the world. I'll have to say (to steal a line from the Stones) he's tied for 2d best.

I think what I love most about JB is he hasn't lost the "kid" in him. From his Buck Dharma "aint I hot sh*t" motions to the crowd because they arent impressed enough with something he just played, to his guitar hero poses that seem half serious and half mocking, he is a joy to watch as well as listen to.

Thanks JB....have to hunt for another city I can make it to!

Re: Paramount Theater, Denver 4/24/12

Just another outrageous show last night. Can't say enough about the guy.
Kelly and I were representing the a street Team before the show and handing out cards in front of the theater. Great seeing you again Kelly. Got in on the meet and greet and had Joe sign my JBLP Studio. Thanks Joe!  Greg Koch, whom I never saw before, was quite impressive. Going to have to do some research on him.

The set list has changed a little since the start of the tour. Would love to see someone who knows exactly what it was post it here.

Thanks again to Joe, the band and the crew for being such a first class act. They are always kind enough to take some time to talk and meet with us after the show as well.

Till next time, soon I hope!

Re: Paramount Theater, Denver 4/24/12

I am a long time frequent reader of the forum, but rarely if ever post.  I should change that as there is always tons of good info here and I should contribute more.  However; I had to jump in and add my brief thoughts specific to the show.  The show was absolutely incredible!!  I saw Joe several years ago at the Mile High Blues Festival here in Denver and was blown away at that show.  As far as I am concerned this show was even better and his playing continues to develop and blow what I believed to be previous high level bars for his playing away.  The only way I could describe his playing last night was virtuoso.  In the purest sense of the word.  Singing and showmanship were great too.  His humor was in effect as always.  he talked about how his you tube video with the most views isn't him playing with Claton at RAH or playing with Paul Rodgers at the Beacon or even video of his 8th birthday party, but rather a video of him playing in Colorado to 7 people at a club called Coyotes.  I took a group of people with me to the show.  many of them were newer fans I have turned on to Joe and his music and they all left fans for life.  Everyone was floored with the show.  The band all played great too.

As Apexelectric indicated in his review the set list was definitely different and I too would like to see an actual set list.  I expected it to be the same as what I saw posted previously so I wasn't prepared to pay that close of attention.  Wish I would have. Not to mention I was mesmerized watching the show itself and taking it all in.  I think that maybe Greg Koch sitting in for 3 songs changed the dynamic of what they did with the set.  The one obvious addition I remember with Greg sitting in was the 2 of them playing Further on up the road together.  Having Greg sit in was great too.  That was a nice surprise.  I am familiar with him somewhat by his reputation as well as the videos he has done for Wildwood guitars here in Colorado.  however; I knew him more for his Chicken Pickin style than a blues guy.  He definitely had some amazing blues chops too.  Definitely preferred Joe's playing obviously but Greg more than held his own.

I could go on and on, but it was everything I hoped the show would be and I couldn't have enjoyed myself more.  Those of you waiting to see upcoming shows are in for a treat and I can guarantee you the wait is worth it.  The evening ended with me getting to meet Joe by his bus.  ( I am doing a separate post in the general topics section to encourage fans in this regard).  Joe and the band couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating.  Joe signed something for me and took a picture, etc.  Perfect ending to a perfect night.  Thanks to Joe, the band, and his crew for this amazing experience.

Re: Paramount Theater, Denver 4/24/12

I will be attending my first Joe B. show here in Des Moines next week.  It is a Christmas present to my son in law (I'm a fan too...but he is the one who turned me on to Joe).

As for the setlist...I have yet to hear one of Joe's songs that I didn't like.  However, please tell me he plays "Ballad of John Henry"....that one is my favorite.

Re: Paramount Theater, Denver 4/24/12

He did play an amazing version of The ballad of John Henry at the denver show complete with him using a theremin for part of the solo.  You won't be disappointed.

Great!  Thank you!

Re: Paramount Theater, Denver 4/24/12

Konkman, Thanks for chiming in.  I got the pleasure to speak with a guy sitting in front of me who informed me that it was his first show as we were speaking before the start.  I informed him that he was in for a real treat and to prepare to be hooked.

I can distinctly remember my first show and how I felt excited about seeing it because I had already listened to all his albums but I had no idea what I was in store for.  Needless to say, the guy in front of me had a grin from ear to ear after the show.  So cool to see an artist who has such a positive effect on his audience and in return an audience with such a great respect and appreciation of the artist.  It is unlike any artist/audience relationship I have ever seen.  It is truly something unique.

As far as the caliber of the show last night, it is probably the best one I have seen yet, even after the Beacon Theater show that I saw on Nov. 5th, you know, the new DVD. A must have BTW. While the guest apearences and the famous venue certainly made it an epic event and one to remember for the ages, the crowds enthusiasm and the intimacy of the venue coupled with the setlist and Joe just being spot on, not to mention Greg Koch, made this a show I will never forget.

Did I mention the meet and greet where I got my JBLP Studio signed and the after show at the tour busses and gear trailers hanging with Greg, Tal, The Bonaholics and the crew.  (Shout out to Mike the guitar tech, thanks for the JB lick) I can die a happy man.  I am lucky to be able to experience such a thing in this day and age.  Seventy bucks for a ticket is a f'n steal if you ask me!

I recorded the show and it actually came out great. I'll post the set list later. It is pretty similar to the others posted with a couple of changes with Greg Koch's turn.

Just had a meeting scheduled the day of the Nashville show, so this may be it for this tour. Looking forward to the next time around!

Re: Paramount Theater, Denver 4/24/12

Would love to get a copy of the recording!  Any chance?
