I took just over 600 photos of this show.  I am not sure that anyone put in for photos from this show with J&R though.  I didn't see anyone there up front for any of the first 3 songs doing photos.

I got a photo pass, but didn't go to the stage because there were people seated so close. I didn't want to block their view. I was in the front row (fixed seats) anyway, so I got some good shots either way, plus a lot of pics from the Columbia show.

Re: Savannah, Nov. 20, 2011

Hi everyone, I am a new Joe fan having just discovered him a few months ago and I have fallen head over heels. I live just north of Atlanta but because of scheduling conflicts, bought tickets to the Savannah show and my wife and I had a nice weekend touring Riverstreet and Tybee Island but the absolute highlight was seeing Joe for the first time live. I was blown away, when the first notes hit I trembled and almost cried with joy.
Having said that, I agree that the sound was off for parts of the show. It seemed like Joe's solos were crystal clear but when the band joined in it was muddled and Joe's vocals were somewhat drowned out or seemed to lag at times. I noticed that he adjusted his mike down at one point, however, I didn't let it ruin my enjoyment of the show. I will bet that the sound will be better in Atlanta because Cobb is a better venue.
The highlight of the show for me was Mountain Time, Sloe Gin, and whatever that song was that he played the double neck guitar
on, it was absolutely incredible. I also loved the Iron Maiden intro and I got that it meant the show was about to start ( two minutes to showtime ).
The lowlights were the guy that kept getting up for beers and all the late people streaming in, I thought it was disrespectfull to the band.
All in all, this was the best concert I have ever had the pleasure of attending and I am plotting a way to see Joe in Birmingham, I don't think I can wait till the next time he comes around...

Completely understand. Be forewarned, the next step is catching a flight to a show. Best to start a coin jar now.  wink  I can't wait to hear how it goes in Hotlanta!   Cathy

Re: Savannah, Nov. 20, 2011

cathy, yeah I have already thought about flying to a Joe show if need be!

Atlanta was even better than Savannah, the sound was pitch perfect and the sell-out crowd seemed to to fuel Joe's performance to another level.

Re: Savannah, Nov. 20, 2011

I saw the show as well. It was great, to say the least.

Bodie's replacement drummer is Tal Bergman and he damn near stole the show in Savannah. Just my opinion, but if anyone questioned his abilities prior, I respectfully would offer otherwise.

I was lucky enough to see them again, just a couple nights ago in Geneva. The venue (Theater du Leman - 1300 seats) is much smaller than the Johnny Mercer theater. But, the acoustics were much better. And, to be honest, the quality of this show far surpassed what I witnessed in Savannah.

All I can honestly say, is that this guy just keeps getting better. He is truly the finest Blues-Rock guitarist on tour.
