Topic: The Last Post

I've spent a liitle time thinking on this and I'm outta here.....as of now. I'm sure some of you will be pleased  tongue

For a while now the saccharine sweet 'blowing smoke up each others arse' postings of some and the 'isn't my life wonderful' bragging of others (hummingbirds and perfect kids anyone?) has bugged me. The recent discussion over Joe's well being and the inability of some to be able to tell the difference beteween being a fan and being a fanatic has confirmed my suspicions that this place is getting too weird.

Of course, there are still a few good men and true (and ladies) who hold a balanced view. To one in particular I say do your utmost to keep the wolf from your door, I wish you well......you know who you are.

Well, it's better than getting banned again   lol

Don't let Brack ramble on about Adele.....whoever she is  wink

I know there's been a but of a sh**storm blowing through recently. I'm not sure I saw exactly what brought it to a head and I'm not sure it matters. Sorry to see you go Geoff.
This forum may be changing, but perhaps it's time and perhaps it is not a bad thing.

Geoff I guess I hardly new ye but I can understand your frustration.I have tried myself not to get too overfanatical.Being here can feed on that urge.We all here feel so strongly about Joe,and if you spend enough time here your mind can start thinking of what else can I think of to discuss about Joe.Maybe the topics run thin and we get caught up on an over worked Joe or oversweaty(lol).That in itself is not bad,but when arguments start over some of these things and turn personal its hard to feel the love.I hope you have had more fun here overall.I do think you seem very thoughtful and hate to see you go.Come back if you feel better about this crazy place in the future!

Sorry to see you go, but I can understand the decision.

I was poised to comment on thread about 'the thread that was no more' at one point, but held off........I don't know why. Then BJJ came in and said what I was thinking anyway and with a deal more eloquence as I recall.

I find myself 'lurking' a lot more these days and less able to join in. Thats fine too I guess. The 'Wet Jacket' type of thread is a reason for not checking out 'General' too much these days.

Others before you have taken the decision, but both Greenose and Curby still ply their trade in 'Other Music' which is a place for music lovers to share some other treasures. There's not too much 'wierd' going on in there so perhaps we can still get to see you there sometimes when you have something on matters other than Joe to share.
