Topic: Yakima, WA - Dec. 11 - Pre-Show?

My wife and I will be heading from Seattle over to Yakima, WA for Joe's show at the Capitol Theatre on December 11.     I don't know any Bona-holics over in Yakima, but there must be some!  smile

If anyone knows of a group pre-function at one of Yakima's drinking/dining  establishments, please post here - would enjoy meeting some fans for a cold one before the show.

And then I need to rest up for the December 15 show in Seattle. . . . big_smile

Thanks - John

Have a good time. I have tickets for 12-15 but since snow conditions in the pass can be nasty, we passed on the Yakima show. Post a play list after the show, PLEASE.

Yah, the weather over the Pass is an unknown - but we will take the 4Matic and hope for the best.  tongue      If we leave early Sunday we'll have plenty of time even if there are delays.     I'm foaming at the mouth - only 3 weeks away!!

Re: Yakima, WA - Dec. 11 - Pre-Show?

Coming from Salem for the show....Yakima is small...just a few bars / restaurants downtown...use to work up there, but can't remember a particular place

Re: Yakima, WA - Dec. 11 - Pre-Show?

We will be taking a client and his wife to the show, and since they live there they they will have some ideas of where to pre-function, so I will be getting some info in that regard.   If you have to wake up on a  Monday in Yakima, might as well be in a comfy hotel bed with the wife, after a night with Joe, and no particular rush to get back to Seattle.  tongue

Re: Yakima, WA - Dec. 11 - Pre-Show?

So excited to think one week from today, I'll be in Yakima at the Capitol Theatre 3rd row waiting for Joe to throw me a pick !! Then back to Seattle for Thursday' night show in row O on main floor and yes saved the best for, last front row Saturday night in Vancover BC ......
Call me crazy, but building memories !!!  Plan to pre party a bit at the Brick in Roslyn on Sunday afternoon for those that are traveling from Seattle .........

Yes indeed, last night after dinner I was thinking "Man, one week from right now - Joe!!!"    And this morning, thinking "one week from right now - sleeping in late with my wife at a nice hotel in Yakima  after an awesome night of music!!!"

We've got new tires on the car and will be ready to roll over the pass on Sunday.   Taxman, what time you planning to be at the Brick?  I think we need to head over the pass mid-day so we can get checked in and meet up with a colleague and his wife whom we are taking to dinner in Yakima and then the concert.

Re: Yakima, WA - Dec. 11 - Pre-Show?

Yakima isn't all "that" small....but it is mostly an agricultural town.  Still there are some good places to eat and drink.  If you like Mexican food, there are a bunch of spots there.  For tamales, don't miss Los Hernandez.  Best ever.

Check out Tripadvisor.com, and Yelp.com

Second row center for the show in Seattle, Dec. 15.  Can't wait.

Re: Yakima, WA - Dec. 11 - Pre-Show?

Right, my wife grew up there and we are pretty familiar with things.  We were leaning towards Second Street Grill since there are not a lot of options for dinner on Sunday evening.

We'll have a lazy trip back on the 12th, then off to the Paramount in Seattle with 3 other couples for the show there on the 15th - we are on the main floor, Sec 2 Row V with seats 1-8, so I think that works out to be about dead center and not too far back.  Should be most excellent !

Thanks for the tip!   They look good - 63 feet back, 7 degrees off dead center.   I am pumped.  big_smile

Re: Yakima, WA - Dec. 11 - Pre-Show?

3 hours til showtime!!!

An easy drive over the pass, a very nice hotel room - properly christened of course - and now some cold ones and a bit of dinner at the Second Street Grill.  We are just a block from the theater, and walked over and saw the Bonacruiser parked in back on our way to the restaurant.  It is a cold and gray day here in Yakima, but something tells me things will start heating up about 8PM big_smile

Years ago I drove from my cousins place in Seattle to a friends in Boise and couldn't resist jumpin' off the highway to see Roslyn. What a trip driving right into the set of Northern Exposure. Unfortunately it was about 7:30 am and nothing was open. I got some photos and jumped back on the freeway and passed through Yakima and still have a hard time picturing Joe playin' a gig there. Give us a rundown and in particular how large a crowd he plays to, thanks.
