Armistice Day and Veterans Day

thinking of everybody past and present involved in conflict.

- as I am sure you all know today is our memorial day for fallen soldiers, - the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month commemorating the exact time when the guns fell silent over the Western Front in 1918.

It is great to see that this remembrance continues, - we had nearby to where we live a horrible incident of the brass plaques remembering the fallen being stolen from a War memorial for the value of the scrap metal, - I mention it not for the awful act that it was but for the public and media outcry over such an atrocious act.

It was good to see my 11 year old daughter this morning rushing around trying to find a pin so as to put her poppy on her school blazer before she left, - it does sink in! - We will hold 1 minutes silence before kick off on our kids football match tomorrow.

I have done research on my Grandfathers WW1 experience, so know a little about what he went through - great that so many people keep records and help others to discover what went on.
