Topic: Roy Buchannan

Howdy Friends, I've been away too long...
I Sure miss Roy Buchannan wish I could have met him, one of my friends was lucky to spend some with him back in the day, his solo in the song please dont turn me away was really inspirational to me.
Speaking of inspirational, I watched a youtube vid of Joe B Jamming some Funk at the Baked potato, it just goes to show that the man has paid some dues beyond the blues, "I coined that" hahahaha

Rock on...

Re: Roy Buchannan

Good to see you on here again Dave.

You need to keep us up to date on whats going on in 'OstiWorld'  smile

Funny you should mention Roy B. Was in the cellar last weekend rifling through various boxes and came upon a host of 45's. There nestling in the bunch was Roy's "Sweet Dreams" on Polydor.

I wasn't really into Blues at the time but recall being a guitar virtuoso 'nerd' in this period and I'd heard it and it struck me what a great player and tone he had. TV appearances at the time featured him with a Tele, and it was fantastic what he could wring out of it.

It is only now in the last years that I've discovered what a great player he was and how much he was respected. I wished I had followed his career a little more at the time. As always-  "the road not taken...."

Sad end to his story. Sweet Dreams Roy B.
