i wish you good luck and a ritchie blackmore in a good mood. last time i saw him, he went of the stage after 40 minutes and didnt come back, concert was finished and the whole crowd was more than angry. he is very fickle and if he doesnt want or doesnt feel like he goes. he went away after playing the beginning of child in time and i was waiting for the solo..................well no solo that evening.
for me he is an a.....................hole and what he does sometimes is absolutly not professional. even if he doesnt feel like playing...................the people paid a lot of money (43€) to see him. and all that for 40 minutes of only accoustic blackmore.
a great player but i wont go to see this rip-off guy again. moreover what he plays now is far away what he used to play in former times.

The gig is sold out , so hoping for good things......I don't expect to hear and Deep Purple stuff , but if I do then it's a bonus.....There's some great guitarwork on the new band stuff that'll be good to hear live

Ophrys - You should've demanded and got a refund. What a pompous jerk. RB's a good guitar player, but (imo) a bit over-rated.
RB has always kind of creeped me out.
I read about Deep Purple and when the Mark II band was winding down he didn't do much work for the Who Do You Think We Are album.I also read that our "own"Glenn Hughes wasn't to thrilled with him when they were in the band together. So it seems that's his personality.Loved his Deep Purple work, one of my all time favorite bands, but too bad he sounds like a jerk.
They were amazing....Laughing and joking all night , and onstage for a solid three hours...Superb evening
Wow! RB must have been in a good mood. I love the Blackmore's Night albums as not only are they something a little different, though some of the contemporary covers don't quite work for me, but because when you listen, RB's playing some of the best guitar he's done for nearly 30 years.
I caught Rainbow a couple of times, the Joe Lynn Turner days and they were fantastic shows though there were flashes of the Blackmore temper at the 1st one, JLT was "hamming" it up a bit too much. Only time I saw RB in Deep Purple, again was the tour JLT was on vocals (Deep Rainbow?). Good, but not definative. Not caught Blackmore's Night yet though would like to, haven't got the legs for tights.......

Here's a review of the gig with a few "snaps".............
Here's a review of the gig with a few "snaps".............
Lee - I saw him and Deep Purple at a teeny venue in '69 or '70 and they were awesome. In the seventies they were one of the top live bands going.
Liked the pics, what equipment are you using?

There's an interview with his missus' in the latest issue of Classic Rock.
She comes across pretty normal I thought. She has been with him for years so must be used to all his flashes of temper. I just glad for him if he is doing something he finally likes and enjoys.
The last interviews I read with him he was doubting the ability to go on as he was so, although if you like, a radical step, it wasn't so much for him. He has always loved this type of music and it seems he has found a format that works for him.
Sounds like it would be a good idea though to have a mutli instralmentalist on hand to take up the guitar parts when the dummy goes out of the pram again!
I think that is also the right attitude as well. Don't expect to even hear the old stuff. He's left that a long way behind. And anyway (but whisper it just in case) Steve Morse can do it better...........
