Jonas Hellborg Group featuring Ginger Baker

Yesterday I saw these guys in a sold out jazz club. Originally I went to see the legendary Ginger Baker. It was good to see him - even when he looked very fragile and much older than he really is. Of course he didn´t play the drums like in younger years, but he obviously had a lof of fun to play with this group. And they are indeed a brilliant band: Jonas Hellborg is an extraordinary bass player and he had with Regi Wooten (guitar) and Dodoo Abass (percussion) two top musicians in his band. I´d call their style of playing basically funk with some free jazz elements. Worth listening to! In the moment they are touring in Germany.
