Topic: Jon Amor Blues Group

Picked up the new album at Jon's gig at the New Cross Inn, London, last week and its been on replay ever since. It's one of those albums you just want to keep on playing.

Here's a great sample of tracks from the album from a recent euro gig:

Eldo - couldn't agree more.  It's a cracker of an album - if you want to hear 4 or 5 tracks & some chat, go here - http://www.varmintshow.net/index.php?op … Itemid=257 - to listen to Jon & Dave from the band

.... and yet again, my post was arbitrarily truncated.

Anyway, the substantive bit's still there - listen to the interview if you get a chance or go out and buy the album - it's great!

Convinced.
Actually I planned to stay at home this Friday, cause there's a gig on Thursday and Saturday.
But I think I have to make a trip to the Netherlands to buy the album and get it signed.

Re: Jon Amor Blues Group

Thanks for the links folks - I was due to see him at The Cluny last week, but it was cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstance". I'll have to buy the album, then hope it doesn't snow when he plays Guisborough in December.

Really enjoying this CD since it arrived in the mail a couple of days ago.
Refreshingly different sound to some of the blues acts I've been listening to lately, and less Hoax sounding than I thought it would be. These guys are now on my must see list.

If you've not checked out the links above give it a shot - some great songs here.

Re: Jon Amor Blues Group

Saw a great gig on Friday.
I was near to sleep when the support band played, but when The Jon Amor Blues Group finally showed up at 11:00 pm on stage it lasted about a few seconds to wake up. 5 minutes later all around nodding heads. YEAH.
They played a powerful and dirty blues rock set and I think that we heard all songs of the new album. Simon Small on the drums hit the drums like a beast and layed a perfect groove for Jon Amor and band.
Got the CD after the show and put it into my car player at my way home the volume cranked up. The music rocks.
lol

@ the Dutchies: they are still on tour in the Netherlands.
