Topic: R.E.M split after 31 years

Just heard that R.E.M have split after 31 years and a string of iconic albums. Don't listen too them often, but one of my favourite bands of my teens. At least none of them have died, so a reunion in a few years is probable.

The first i've heard. They made their mark in the Biz over the years. A difficult decision to make, or maybe not!
31 years not bad! Their music lives on!

I didn't know they were still together. It appears I forgot about them. OK. I.m over the shock now. big_smile

I got their first album and liked it, some of their singles were pretty good, but after awhile thought they took themselves too seriously.  Like Jim I thought they went bust a decade ago.

I hate to say it, but you guys are sounding just like some posters on Skynyrds site regarding Green Day, however those guys are unabashedly homophobic, about Green Day....can't imagine what they'd post up about REM.

It's not a judgement of the guy's character or anything. The music just never resonated with me. Guess that's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream, know what I mean?  smile
