Another one....Hadden Sayers with Ruthie Foster.  His album Hard Dollar should be investigated and enjoyed.

Just picked up "Hard Dollar" and a live disc of his. Great stuff so far. Haven't listened to all of it, but really like what I've heard so far. Thanks for the tip Curby. I hope he comes out with more soon.

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

One of my favorite "stealth" bands as you called them is a little power trio called Radio Moscow. They come from the record label Alive Naturalsound Records which is where the Black Keys were first signed. I'd recommend practically anything from the label but these guys are my favorites. They do the Hendrix/Cream/Blue Cheer psychedelic blues sound very well. They sound like they could have come straight out of 1970. If any of you like those bands I mentioned I'd recommend giving them a listen.

Here's a blast from the past for you: I don't know how big he made it Stateside or even in mainland Europe, but I've always thought Billy Squier never achieved the full potential of the Don't Say No album. Either that, or I've lived in some vacuum for many years.

Seen on this thread some contemporary Brits get mentioned, i.e. Mitch Laddie. Word is he's just finished his new album. Think he's also been over in the Sates last month with Russ Tippins, also new album in the pipeline, doing some gigs with WT Feaster Band. Few months ago, saw the 3 of them jam at a gig near Newcastle and it was something special.

Curby, you might want to check out Giles Robson & The Dirty Aces if you like raw, harmonica driven blues or for more, basic, heavy guitar stuff, try Storm Warning's 3rd album Strategy

BansheeUK,

First thing - welcome to this forum and is this my buddy Mike?  Your above post is strewn with worthy artists.  Mitch Laddie has sorta been lumped with Virgil and the Accelerators, but is an outstanding performer in his own right.  I was fortunate to get his album and love the way he varies his sound.  I hope he and Virgil record something together, that would be special.
WT Feaster is from nearby Indianapolis and I plan to see them soon.
Of all mentioned though I'm probably most smitten with Mr. Tippens' guitar playing - one of the UK's best pickers.
I have listened to some of Giles Robson and find it very interesting.  He's a good harp player and the Dirty Aces are a tight little band.  I really like their "Swindler For You" - very Fabulous Thunderbirds sounding.

lol  BUSTED!!!!!
Hi Curby, yes, it's me - told you I'd get on by hook or by crook.

Mitch and Virgil are good mates but contrasting styles as you know. Mitch is guesting on a couple of Virgil's gigs, so there'll be plenty of guitar fireworks to watch out for if their get-togethers earlier in the year have been anything to go by. VATA's album got a very good review in Classic Rock magazine this month.

Russ is riding on a high, just getting back from the US - did a couple of gigs still with jet-lag. Seems he went down very well on some dates with WT Feaster.
