I'm grateful to KWS on the 10 Days Out CD & DVD set for introducing Honeyboy and others to a whole new generation of music lovers.  Sadly, not many of those guys left now.  R.I.P.

I was fortunate to have seen him perform at the 2009 Paramount Blues Festival and he still coud bring it! smile He really was the last link to the original Delta Blues men. RIP Honeyboy...

As you hear of a musician passing you are drawn to see where they've come from and what they gave.

David "Honeyboy" Edwards was the last of the true early greats from that pioneering Delta Blues scene.

It is sad we lost a true link back to those days of the birth of the blues, but his music will live on and through other modern pioneers of The Blues.

HoneyBoy once explained the differences between most guitar players and a bluesman.  One of the biggest differences he spoke about in his gravelly voice?  A bluesman could steal your soul and blow your mind with just one note.  I always found that interesting.  I believe at one time Albert King told Gary Moore to play every other run...
