Topic: George Thorogood and the Destroyers 2120 Michigan Avenue

I don't normally listen to GT but this new release is a damn good.  Jim Suhler really shines here and there's some fine guest musicians.  Here's a nice review I found...

Thanks for this Curby, I've been meaning to check this out and will now order it. For those who may still not be aware of the fact that GT's guitarist, Jim Suhler, is one hell of a player himself, please check out his very wonderful 'Tijuana Bible', a 24 carat gem if ever there was one!  wink

Hey people, y'all really are missing one hell of good cd. I've had it for a week and have been playing it daily. Please check it out, you won't regret it! Try 'Spoonful' maybe on itunes for a starter.  wink

I bought it when it came out.  Also saw GT last Sunday.  He's a very charismatic performer.  Jim Suhler's talent definitely comes through live as well.

This is yet another CD I have to get......I think most of my August pay has already been spent!!

I picked up a copy a few days ago and finally found some time (driving), to give it a first run through.  First impression is that I like it alot.  GT's homage to the folks at Chess Records and his hero's  such as Willie Dixon, Chuck Berry & Muddy Waters makes for an enjoyable listen and Jim's guitar playing is first rate.  Nice job George.

You can buy any of the older GT albums: they are all good and maybe cheaper than the new one.
