Topic: Ten Years After - Evolution
I'm nursing either a toothache or a sinus infection, am on the fourth day of a Z-Pack of antibiotics and am about to start using liquid libation to ease my pain. Anyhoo, before that happens (so's you don't think I've lost me bean) I'd like to ask all of you this question: "When does a band's name become a liability?" I say that because I came across TYA's album Evolution and although I think it's fantastic I know fans of the band will be turned off because Alvin Lee don't play on it. It's the original band that played at Woodstock, but there's a new guitarist by the name of Joe Gooch. If you give JG a fair listen on the attachement I've provided I think you'll find he ain't half bad. Alvin Lee's a legend, but his best days are well behind him. If the band still has something to offer than why not find a hungry lad to step onstage. I suppose they've kept the band's name to keep their foot in the door, but I think diehard fans will reject this change outta respect for Mr. Lee.
