I was intending to post on this subject yesterday after reading on the BBC website about the trails and recent tribulations of Plymouth Argyle.
Here is this ingrate paid a fortune per week, while clubs like Argyle are going under (courtesy of their own financial, mismanagement its true).
Peter Reid selling his medals to pay the wages and so on.
Tevez undoubtedly inspired the Hammers in their late flourish that season, but oh how he cost us too. Still paying Sheff United off (and I never worked that one out, should have fought that to the end).
But he has been here plying his trade in the Premiership for 5 years and to my knowledge has made little or no effort to adapt to life here. Doesn't attempt to speak the language in any interviews I have seen. His agent is a true low life. He has the player on a personal contract and flogs him mercilessly for his own profit. Tevez' renumeration presumably softens this blow, but he is classic case where the money goes out of the game to its detriment.
I have no sympathy for City in this matter. Reap as you sow. If you profigately spend money they way they have and do you deserve to attract the rubbish that goes with that policy.
I read some FIFA bod says he would like to take action against Tevez for the alleged incident, but why don't FIFA get real with the agents that are ruining the game beyond belief. But they won't as they collect fat fees for sanctioning them in the first place.
I detest the structure of the game today. TV money has distorted the game horribly, although there are some nice stadiums these days I suppose.
I know how it is though. If you were born to support Citeh then thats how it is for you....through the good and the bad. I feel the for the Argyle supporters right now though. Thats where Tevez' wages should be going for the next 2 weeks.
