I know of some Pink Floyd tribute bands (not the one I go to see ) who shy away from performing "In the Flesh" from The Wall, because they're uncomfortable singing the lyrics:

Not political in nature Curby, but made me think of Billy's 'Eyes Without a Face' which I no longer hear played on mainstream rock stations. "I'll kill you and you're out there, so say your prayers", and "Turning water into wine, drinkin it down" doesn't set too well here in the bible belt. but I do love Steve Stevens extremely crunchy sound on that one. You've given me a good excuse to buy one of his greatest hits CDs.

I don't think any of those songs would be banned today either... they'd just slap a warning label on it. And that's fine with me.

There are a lot of raunchy songs on the airwaves today, with bits of 'em spliced out or with content you don't really want your ten year old hearing. Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, Halestorm are three that happened to pop into my mind, but there are many others. Not to mention the deep tracks that don't make it on the radio at all. Not complaining, just making an observation.

But for my money, The Nuge's Wango Tango is probably the all-time winner in that category!

Edit: On second thought, make that Alice Cooper's "I Love the Dead."

I don't even count rap because all it is is profanity and disrespect.  This song on the other hand is scantily clad women and power rock - a nice combination.  I wish I could use their Rockpalast version, but alas the f-bomb is used too liberally.  This one's pretty good though.

we all know the music world is owned and controlled by MTV, - which is a scary thing, and why you get censorship like this....http://youtu.be/BYE4CVhVkhw - heaven forbid that we hear a naughty word, - but  the investment continues with so called "games" like Grand Theft Auto...

Music is an easy thing t have a go at, - ergo you get the idiots like PMRC....

Have we seen the same backlash against murder, rape and foul language on computer games? No. - Massive problem I have with my 12 year old son and war/crime games because we do not let him play them, - and the fact that he is very much in the minority is teh problem. I do not have a problem with him hearing a song with the F word or even songs like Pink Floyd's song "In the Flesh" because it has a context and is actually very much anti what it is singing about...Sorry not trying to take the debate off course, - but I have rambled off here..

The word 'faggot' from 'Money For Nothing'....you don't hear that on so many versions now.
