Topic: Tito & Tarantula

Stumbled across this song and I'm in the way-back-machine.  The black light's on, the incense is burning for the obvious reason and I'm drifting into a trance listening to Jim Morrison.....only no, it's not The Doors, it's Tito & Tarantula.  Great song for a friday.

Re: Tito & Tarantula

They're featured in Robert Rodriguez's movies a lot. Check out the soundtracks for his movies and you'll see several songs by them. They're really good.

I had to do the same thing.  Wish I could find this live recording though.

Re: Tito & Tarantula

yeah, wow that is a good one Curby and I loved the movie. I was looking at her bass, you don't see many LP styled basses, but it looks like an Epiphone headstock. Is that Paul Sorvino from Goodfellas singing? Oh, no that must be Tito. The resemblance is scary if you imagine Paul with long hair. I would like to hear a song about the angary cockaroaches.

Re: Tito & Tarantula

Quentin definitely had the best seat in the house for that performance. lol

Re: Tito & Tarantula

Great band. In Germany there is the Burg Herzberg Open air festival and it is a 3 days festival in 'hippie' tradition meaning music, performances, clothing etc in the sixties-style.
Rockpalast broadcasted a documentary about it. I recorded that and one of the groups was Tito & The Tarantula. They played 2 songs ;After dark and Forever Forgotten And Unforgiven. Music  perfectly fitted for the festival! Other groups: Big Brother And The Holding Company, Steppenwolf, Robin Trower, The Amber Light ,Ten Years After and Ozric Tentacles.

Really great festival: must go there once myself!!

Yes Rick: Rockpalast is the best livemusic programm in the world. I watch it from the beginning 31 years ago! Recorded many shows on video and later put it on DVD. The last years Rockpalast has many releases from these shows and you can buy a lot; better quality of course!

Re: Tito & Tarantula

Haven't  played them lately, it's a good reminder to do that.
Love the movie "From dusk till dawn" and the music of Tito & Tarantula perfectly fits.
They will be on a long tour in Germany in August and September.
We saw them about 2 years ago - but my friend missed Salma Hayek.

One of the outstanding songs of their "Back into the Darkness" album is "Machete" for me.
