Hi Stu,
there is really only older stuff on Youtube, very little Joe in it, the odd lick here and there. Although they used to do a blinding version of Had To Cry Today captured here by our own Michael Lynch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfv7tZurU9M I think Starship Trooper is there too and he is playing Michaels JB LP 005. Joe kindly mentioned to Virge that he dug the version but to slow it down 'cos thats were the groove is'. At the time I personally was trying to slow V down but it was trying to stop a freight train with failed breaks. So I just figured he would naturally progress himself, which he has. Maturing his playing a lot quicker than I expected. Virgil is insanely talented, its a god given gift, he has so much to offer and we are only scratching the surface.
The album is not a Joe tribute, some parts have a clear tip of the hat to joe. Virgil was SRV, SRV and SRV and when he was 9 or 10 he discovered Joe and it opened a whole new world to him.
That said, the album definitely has some Joe and many others too and lots of Virgil. As said before the vids on youtube are mostly covers and from a while back. We are making some 'proper' videos this week for the album. The whole idea of this album is too move away from covers as while folks like to see what you can do they start getting itchy too see new stuff. Plus you don't want to be finishing your set on covers 3 years down road (what I mean is direct covers, nothing wrong with making a cover your own, which are doing at the moment).
This album surprised me, I could not ask for anything more for a first album. It will put them on the map.

It was a joke...if you click the link I included in my post, it takes you to Steppin Out/Rice Pudding. I hear a lot of early JB in their music, including the Working Man clip featured on their website. I like what I hear...a lot!

As we got in the car to give Sandy Girl a local tour, Helen said, "hey look at the post box" and there were two of those envelopes sticking out. My Memorial Day Joe shirt and Vata's release, with the first included too! Thanks Martin! I donned the tee, which is very cool and off we went. We played it for the first time it as we cruised the coast Cali style. Joe has serious influence here. Virgil has picked up some of his riffs just as Joe did with his guitar heros. Stunning depth of musical talent IMHO. This young man has places to go. I'll give a more in depth review once the frenzy of this weekend settles but this is a buy it now moment if you haven't already.

Awesome track Martin, these lads are going places. great news that you have a slot on sat, I dont have the cd yet but will pick one up from you on the  saturday, do you have any of the presale signed posters left.

Hi Martin, yes we are staying in carlisle on thursday night and will be traveling to workington  on friday morning where we are staying for the whole weekend.
