Topic: Eric Czar solo videos

I knew he could play but these clips are amazing.  I've never heard such a "musical" bass.

Hi,

thanks for the link-tipp... this is awesome...
I wondered what he is doing today...

Cheers
PIT...  cool

Re: Eric Czar solo videos

I am in total amazement of Eric.  This is classic dude, with so much meaning behind it. Only the greats play this piece so I guess it goes without saying that you would do it on bass.

Re: Eric Czar solo videos

Why doesn't he just add another string and be the center of attention he sorely craves????? Everytime I saw him with JB he tried to steal the spotlight, but we all know who the star really was.

Excellent work Eric. I guess, 4 strings isn't enough for the gifted!

i think you be showing your green more than thinking green........ what would Yoda say! :0

anyway, THNX Rivercat. yeah big motivator to get myself some spare time, i wanna check out those lessons. of course even if i had the ability i am not seeking to play stuff like in his recent clips but desire instrument insight

Very true if you mean green with envy. I would like to play like the pros, but Eric isn't one of my role models IMHO. Now Senor Rojas on the other hand is as smooth as it gets, not to mention our esteemed FDOL as well!!!

No.1 Fact  I put this up here, not Eric Czar.

I put this up here because people have a rare opportunity to get lessons from one of the best through a new technology.  It's great that he offers his time to do this.

Well, I seen him a a lot more times than you did.   He carefully dissected what Joe played and played within those bounds.  And by the way, any musician knows its not about the strings, it's about his fingers, the notes, the touch, and the mind. He can play on 1 string and it would be phenomenal. Just to let you know, there are other 7-string bass players that really love what Eric is doing and showing what they can do on a 7-string. He's helping them. Oh I guess it's wrong for Steve Vai to play a triple neck guitar.  Steve Vai must really be jonesing for attention.  He did not try to steal the spotlight, he was in the context of the music, making it better if you really paid attention. I'm not going to deny there was some extenuating circumstances at the end, but that doesn't take away from everything he added to Joe's music.  And yes, I like Sick bass players, like Andy Fraser and Eric Czar who don't just stay in the pocket but put forth their best musicality to make the song better and the group better.  And pay  close attention to this.  In his videos, The camera isn't focused on Eric's face, it is focused on his fingers.  He wants other bassists to see what they can do with their fingers.

For you it's about a star.  For me it's about the musician.  Eric has nothing to prove.  Because he is a phenomenal bass player and a true artist who is doing what is in his heart and trying to expand the horizons of the bass and helping other bass players. Bravo!

I have posted this on bass forums, so bassist's can know what they can achieve.  I would put this on the front page of Yahoo and MSN and if I could.

It's okay that Eric isn't one of your role models, you can learn from the others you mention.

But for other bass players, this is a great opportunity he's offering and If just Jane(I am so jealous that you have his bass)  wanted some bass lessons, well she has her opportunity and she can do it sitting at home with Skype.  Also this is for anyone else who would like this opportunity.

And just to remind people of what music he is doing now, this is it.  And it has in yellow how to contact him.

Re: Eric Czar solo videos

I always loved the sound of the bass .I wish I was blessed with an ounce of musical talent.Tried piano as a kid but was bored.Played the coronet which was better but lost intrtest. If I could go back in time the bass is what I would have chosen to give a go at.
