This is going to be a wonderful Fest! I just want to add a word for Lil Ed!! He is so much fun, always wears a fez, and, even though he's a little guy, he plays a big arse guitar that will have you jumping!! Don't miss him!    Enjoy and say Hi when G calls  smile  Cathy

All I can tell you is there IS a campsite, 9 euros per vehicle, pretty much adjacent to the site in a pleasant German country town - I'm sure they have all the usual mod cons expected at such a site.  wink

You'll have to make yourself known to the rest of us, just look for JB tees, hats or badges.  big_smile

The artists in bold are the ones I'm particularly looking forward to. (I don't know the others.) Does anyone else think that it's a little odd that Otis Taylor headlines over Sonny?

I don´t think so much here in terms of over/under but Otis Taylor might be fitting better to the dark night.
Günter

Of the non-bold artists I only know Meena. I think I´ll go for dinner while she is singing.

Let's have dinner together then. So far, I haven't seen Meena with her own band only with the Blues Caravan and the band was great but too loud for Meena's voice. Will be interesting to see her with Chris Fillmore.

On Saturday I plan my dinner time between 7:00 and 8:00.
But I'll definitely be there to see Roland Tchakounte & Band. Could be a surprise. Hope so.

Re: Grolsch Blues Festival - 11-12 June 2011

And now the line-up is complete.
Tom Viets & Friends will have the honour to open the festival on Saturday, 2:30 - 3:00 pm.
Tom Viets is announced as a veteran of German blues rock but I have to admit that I never heard of him before.

Still 24 days ...  lol

Re: Grolsch Blues Festival - 11-12 June 2011

Sounds great again!! Brilliant line up again.

This festival has been chosen as the best German Bluesfestival in 2010 by the German Blues Foundation!! It is famous for having the right nose for talent. Many artists played here at the beginning of their career and a few years later they had their break through in Europe or worldwide.

For example: Joe Bonamassa, Beth Hart, Dana Fuchs, Henrik Freischlader, Tommy Castro, Michael Burks
My tip this year: Ryan McGarvey, Roland Tchakounte, De Wolff.

No introduction needed for Otis Taylor, Sonny Landreth, Ana Popovic, and Lil Ed of course!

Hope to see many of you!!!

Tick tack tick tack.
Only 2 days.
Tick tack tick tack.
Weather forecast not that bad. Good chances that it won't rain!

Reasonable chance of rain on Saturday and 'only' 20 degrees, though Sunday looks sunnier and warmer. We'll have to come prepared. wink

This will be my third festival in the last four weeks, I'm going to be doing a lot of sitting down....wait till you see Ana! cool Not only does she seriously rock, but the rest of her band is sh*t hot too!

But of course, our major highlight will be seeing Ryan! big_smile

In the morning the weather forecast was quite good and now it seems that it could rain on Saturday. Let's cross our fingers that the weather god is a blues lover.

You guys and Ana! My guy loves her too, but I'm waiting to see Mike Zito and to buy a number of his CDs.

Roland Tchakounte could also be a surprise. His voice sounds incredible.

Tomorrow I'll get my first dose of Ryan. Very excited.

WetterOnline says that it will be rather cool but dry.
