Hey, thanks you two! The trip just sort of fell together. Tallan and his family were at Shank Hall a month or so ago and Carl, Tallan's dad, invited me to go along with him and Tallan to Dallas to attend the International Guitar Festival. Then, before we left, Carl said we might as well go to Austin first for 3 to 4 days to see a few people and hang out. Loooooong drive from Elkorn, Wisconsin to Austin, Texas! We started out at 3:00 AM and arrived in Austin at 9:30 PM with only one real stop in St. Louis. Had a great time there including Blues Tuesday at Antonoe's where we saw Malford Milligan, David Grissom and Chris Layton perform. Funny story of Tallan and I running into Chris in the men's room. Anyway, after our stay in Austin we drove up to Dallas (about 3 hours north) and stayed at a fellow's home by the name of Rick who is the president of the SRV Ride and Concert. We hung out with Rick hitting some great restaurants and of course hung out at the Festival. Tallan had commitments at 2 booths; both the SRV Ride and Concert booth and the Dangerous Guitar booth. Tallan got up and played not only at Antone's with The Peterson brothers, but also jammed with Lance Lopez both at the indoor stage and the Dangerous Guitar booth. He also got up to perform at The Bone in Dallas with a couple of young Texas guitar slingers by the names of Brandon Katona and Benton Lawson, both excellent guitarists!
Anyway, we had a 9-day blast of music, travel and fun...I have lots of picture. Actually too many , but I'll link them here...

We have the same tour plan, Andre. See you in Groesbeek then.
Hope I will be there in time and won't be trapped on the German Autobahn due to the long weekend here in Germany.
It's great to hear that Marco will be in Schöppingen. His pics are simply the best.
I believe you will all be amazed at Ryan's playing. Enjoy!!! Tell him Rocket says Rock On!

I promise I will Rocket!
Not fair - Ryan goes to Europe before he hits most of his own country!
Enjoy guys - I still have very pleasant memories of Ryan playing on the backstage at Crossroads - Mystic Dreams is killer.

Hard guy to catch up with Rocket???
It took us all just a few weeks to get him here in Europe and to arrange a tour.................Maybe the right people at the right time and the right connections!
Joking of course but it is the truth and nothing but the truth.

Which seriously says a lot about the state of the so-called economucks [sic] of the USA specifically and the music business in general.

Very excited for Ryan making it to Europe, he sounded great what little bit I got to hear him at a club in Nashville back in November after Joe's show at TPAC. Looking forward to hearing all about it, please keep us up to date!
Ryan's warm-up gig on Friday in Groesbeek will be recorded from the Bluesmoose radio.
So I'm sure they will post some vids on youtube.
