Does this mean David will play on the Wall tour?

It seems London was the place to be last night: in a bolt out of the blue, David Gilmour and Roger Waters performed together for the Hoping Foundation Benefit Evening, playing Wish You Were Here! Guy Pratt performed bass duties, whilst Roger was on acoustic guitar. For those of you surprised by Guy's inclusion, some of you will recall from our Guy Pratt interview back in 2005, Guy was asked to play bass for Pink Floyd at Live8 when the reunion happened...
News of the show, and the appearance by David and Roger, was broken by one of the hosts of the evening, TV presenter Fearne Cotton, who tweeted about the event in the early hours of this morning. There's a number of pictures from the performance, and the evening itself, over at Getty Images, and if you click the thumbnail to the right, you'll go directly to them.

I can see Dave doing the  one-off gig..... but a tour ? doesn't need the hassle, money or exposure! IMO

Fearne Cotton .... wouldn't have put her down as a Floyd fan!! hey ho!  smile

Agreed- he'll do one of the 3 London shows. That means I have to go to all 3- just in case. Grrr....

Bit off topic but did anyone see Friday Night with Jonathan Ross recently where David guested on guitar for Al Green?

Uhoh...the big black Strat went out of tune!

Not the best solo he played.

Not the best singing he's down.

Hmm...well they seemed to have fixed the niggles in the 'official' video on Waters' fb page (bar the unfortunate ending). Sounds better.

Waters' show runs fine by itself...the band are all superb players...and they play for the show. The Wall is a piece that moves by itself...rather than the individual members who try to make up more than the sum of its parts band...

...and I am as big a Floyd and Gilmour fan as any and jakey...I just can't afford the pedalboard!  mad

...it's been a while,tho,eh.... roll  my mate was there and yet to talk to him but i bet there was a tear in his eye,and no doubt i'll hear about it once or twice in the next century or so.. big_smile (jealous?moi?) big_smile  big_smile
