Re: Warren Haynes Band

Mine was waiting for me yesterday when I got home from work.  Quickly loaded onto Ipod and gave a full volume listen while on the elliptical at the gym last night.  I had listened to it via the link I had posted, but really had an opportunity to focus on it for the first time last night.

First impressions... I agree with Curby, this will definately be in my 2011 top 5.  Great lyrics, soulful, blusey vocals, fantastic guitar licks, wonderful saxaphone accompanyment and backup vocals by the amazing Ruthie Foster.

Early favorites are:
Everyday Will Be Like A Holiday, On A Real Lonely Night and Save Me.  Followed closely by Sick of My Shadow.

Great effort by Warren and I hope it's not another 10 years before he releases his next.

Re: Warren Haynes Band

Have ordered the album of which I've heard only clips but they sounded so good!

Got tix today for the Hamburg show in July. Going to be a great week then. BCC on the 6th and Warren on the 13th!

No Hits, No Hype.......................Classic Rock Jan 2012

Re: Warren Haynes Band

Favorite album of 2011 hands down... I don't even care what comes out next...  Had tix to his private release party tonight, but it got kaboshed thanks to the LIRR and its terrible service/traffic/construction!!!!  Just have to wait until the Beacon on Thursday then... then Mt. Jam, and then Koln!!!  Maybe he lets me jam with him one of these days wink LOL.

I got my copy as well as the DVD last Saturday.  I missed Christmas Jam last year so I had to get that dvd.  Loved every bit of it.  Its not Gov't Mule, but its not Allman Brothers either... But it has that Warren Haynes feel all over it.  If your a fan of Warrens GET THIS CD!

Re: Warren Haynes Band

Let´s make this a short one: Warren Haynes is God.  wink

"Man in motion" is a true Warren album: good from start to finsih, emotional, soulful and rocking, musically excellent, and it´ll probably never get old (even though it´s only been out for a week...). It´s unreal how many fantastic songs this man can put out - some artists would be thankful for just one song like that.
Even as a die-hard Mule fan, it´s great to see Warren leave the rock-arena for a little bit and turn to soul - of course we already knew how good he´s at that too ... see Otis Redding covers.
My favourite so far is (I´m tempted to say ALL of them) "Your wildest dreams" - hello again, Otis Redding ....

Enough gushing now, but I think I can also already say that this is my album of the year - or at least it´s on #1 right now.
Can´t wait for the show in Cologne!

Re: Warren Haynes Band

Warren is playing in LA on June 29 and in San Diego on June 30.  The shows are during the week.  The San Diego show is at the HOB and is general admission.

Tough to get to a show during the week with my work schedule and I don't like GA shows so it looks like this one will pass me by but thought I'd pass along for anyone interested.

Re: Warren Haynes Band

Amazing cd

Re: Warren Haynes Band

I would have loved to see the show in St. Louis at the Pageant the other night. Especially since I heard he closed the show with Soulshine, one of my favorite songs. Unfortunately, working many hours stands in the way of a lot of fun things for me.

But I love the new CD, good stuff for sure.

Re: Warren Haynes Band

I've been playing Man In Motion a lot since it arrived a few days ago. Hattiesburg Hustle and On A Real Lonely Night (love the horns) are coming out as my standout tracks at the moment but they're all superb (as you'd expect from Warren Haynes).

Very excited about seeing him with his new band on 5th July at Shepherds Bush but it's a shame I can't make the journey to Köln to join my Mule buddies (Günter and Thomas) plus Eva and Ben for a second helping.
