Re: May 4, 2009/ May 4, 2011

I thought it was nice of him to do that historic performance on my birthday.  Thanks, Joe!

Lovely little film, Rocket. Cathy will be delighted to discover that you missed her, since she hates having her picture taken. I might have been doing my invitation checking stint at the front door downstairs while you were busy, 'cos I don't remember seeing you running around with the camera. Never mind, it was fun to see so many faces in the gloom and know I was there.   wink

Haha! Didn't see myself either, but I'm not sure I stayed in one spot too long. I also spent some time at the door checking invites. Doesn't matter, this was a wild ride watching Rocket capture a great evening!

I heard her voice when the picture signing was going on.  So cool that Rocket did this - and to keep these vids secret for two years!  Love seeing all the photos and vids.  Thanks everyone.

Well of course.  This is where a fully grown bluesman shows the world how it's done.  I swell with feeling.

The perfect set list played by the perfect band. And decked OUT.

Rocking, sweating, shaking and coming unglued.  While the rest of the world moans about your "God given talent", I salute your work ethic.  Not by accident, did this happen.  No, not by accident...

Happy Anniversary and Happy 34th Birthday Joe!  My memories of the RAH performance are being at work watching every post on the forum from all the lucky fans who got to be there giving us back home the play by play which included a few pictures.  I was so excited for Joe knowing it was the night of his life and was thrilled that it all went so great!  Couldn't wait for the release of the dvd.  Other than the incredible performance of course, my favorite two moments are the shot from behind of Joe walking out onto the stage and seeing the huge crowd go nuts AND seeing the ear to ear grin on Joe's face when he introduced Eric Clapton!  Getting to see the crowd from Joe's view was amazing.  I felt such joy and teared up when Joe introduced Eric Clapton because I was so very happy for him.  As I told Joe recently after a show - it's so exciting to watch the progression of his career and a long way from the shows at Two Frogs Grill in Ardmore, Oklahoma!  Enjoy it all Joe - you deserve it.  Thank you for all you do on stage and off for your fans.  That's why we love you!

I honestly can't imagine how the show and DVD could have turned out better.  I own 250+ music DVDs and RAH is clearly the best I've seen.  Everything seems so perfect from the camera work, to the sound, to the beauty of the venue, and of course the performance itself.  It's hard to imagine any possible improvement, but I have a feeling from experience that you will somehow do the impossible.  Congratulations Joe.

Yes indeed dknight, indeed.

I've just spent the best part of an hour searching for the link to my RAH/Cocoon pics without success.  sad  I'd be most grateful if any of you can remember seeing a pic link that I posted and point me at it.

Meanwhile, I am uploading some again and will post when ready. The thing is, I have other people's shots mixed in with my own in the same folder, so apologies in advance if I wind up posting someone else's shot thinking it was one of mine.

Re: May 4, 2009/ May 4, 2011

I think I saw my back in your video Rocket.  smile  Like George, I knew that I was there and it was great to see everyone again. I shall never forget meeting bonabuddies over those two days who have since become and continue to become dear friends. I remember that I was overawed by the whole event, so magical to see Joe in the RAH when in 2006 I first saw him play at Jack Beards in Tooting to about 40 people  smile

Joe, you have given us all so much.

Thank you

Hi Maggie, we saw Joe in 2005 at Jack Beards! It was a small crowd then...

Thank you, dear. But, I wasn't looking for individual pics, of which there are a number of crackers in the above link to the write-up of your whole trip (I recommend anyone who hasn't clicked Cathy's link to do so, it's a real nice piece!), I thought I had uploaded a specific Cocoon folder of pics - but it seems like I may have mis-remembered, like Ronnie Reagan used to 'mis-speak'.  sad

Anyway, here now are our Cocoon pics, and probably a few that others took. Some of these may be posted for the first time.  tongue  Enjoy.

Re: May 4, 2009/ May 4, 2011

I would like to say something very original here but the only thing that fits is what others have said "It couldn't have been better". I also play the DVD a few times a month for a fix. The band was so "on" for the entire show. Both drummers could have done the show alone but together they were awsome.
