Great show - first time "So Many Roads" played live. Goosebumps.

Only one problem - we arrived from LA in shorts to snow on the ground in Crystal Bay..........I had no idea it would be snowing in late May. BRRRRR

Re: crystal bay casino lake tahoe

The Lake Tahoe show last night was my first taste of both the new material and hearing Bogie and Mark play with Joe. It was all good!!! Joe seemed to be having a lot more fun with the crowd than other shows I've been to in the past, but it's hard not to have fun in Tahoe even if it's snowing on Memorial weekend.

P.S. thanks again Joe and Dennis for the swag hook-up!!!!

Glad to hear it went so well. Looking forward to Vegas even more now.

Wow... That is great news to hear that Joe played "So Many Roads".  Any other new songs that hasn't been played before?  Snowing in May!!!  Sounded like it was hot inside though.

Re: crystal bay casino lake tahoe

I don't think any other completely new ones......we did get 3 off the new disc. "So Many Roads", "Asking Around for You", and "Bridge To Better Days".

There are several songs off the new disc that are "special"; when you hear them live you'll know what I mean.

"Takin' The Hit" was the first song; the set included
"A New Day Yesterday" with Spoonful ending, solo was outstandining even by Joe's standards
"Walk In My Shadows" new arrangement
"Blues Deluxe" - Joe really blasted on this one with his playing AND singing

I can't recall the whole set list, but suffice to say 3 shows, 3 nights, 3 set lists, and the songs that were on the set list each night were different in typical Joe fashion.

Band sounded good - everyone was having fun on their way to hitting their stride for this part of the tour.

I'm sure the shows in the next few days will be over the top - don't miss them!

June 17th in Atlanta cannot come quick enough Phil.   Thanks for the update and seems that Joe is really having a great time with the new band, new CD  and renewed energy.  I am glad Joe is doing some more new songs off "You and Me" and from what has been said, they are special and probably instant Joe classics!

Re: crystal bay casino lake tahoe

Awesome show in the snow ! We got there early as Joe was setting up
and caught about 2 hours of soundcheck ! The concert was excellent, Joe
was on fire. Great venue, great sound. Highlight for me was 'Woke Up Dreaming'.
I was front row and could hear jaws hitting the floor behind me.
Got to talk to Joe before and after the concert and he seemed to like the
t-shirts we were wearing that I had designed and printed. He even said he
might steal the idea ! The guy on the merchandise stall (sorry, didn't get
his name) even put an order in for one for himself ! We'll be seeing him
in Deer Valley with Kenny Wayne Shepherd on July 1st ... I can't wait !

Why are we here? Because we're here. Roll the bones.

Re: crystal bay casino lake tahoe

Randy (Torqdog), Viv, Loren and I totally enjoyed the show in Crystal Bay on Sat. night - and YES, it was snowing and damn cold outside.  It's been close to a year since the 4 of us had seen Joe, and I'm tellin ya, Joe continues to evolve.  Each and every time I see him, I'm amazed because it's hard to imagine that he could get any better, but he always does!  His vocals are dynamite and he keeps singing and playing better, and who would ever imagine that could be possible, but it's the truth.  He's interacting with the crowd much more, and the new CD is fantastic.  Randy took lots of video and photos so maybe he can tear himself away from his upcoming move to post a few.  The 4 of us are planning to see Joe next at the Sonora Blues Fest - anybody else out there planning to go??

Wow, it's been a while since I've been on the site and it's completely different.  Take care all!

Windy, I didn't get to meet you but spoke to Randy and Viv in Tahoe. Glad you liked the show. It was a great venue with a good crowd. Lost my airfare later playing Roulette. Had to take a bus home. Just kidding. Thanks to Phil, Janette, and Mike W for inviting me along on the lost weekend. Last minute trips are the best sometimes.
