Topic: If you guys like BCC...

...and like a lead singer with a great set of pipes, loud and raunchy guitars, a powerful drummer and they play blues-based british riff-rock then you may want to look up Fastway. Their first two albums are both solid albums in the british blues rock tradition of Zeppelin, Free, etc. They kinda lost the plot after those first two records.

I'm in the process of selling all my vinyl on Amazon and I came across these guys. I hadn't listened to them in years. I don't know if Joe or anyone else in BBC ever heard of them but I hear a lot of similarities between the two bands. If you have iTunes, have a listen to "Say What You Will" or "Far, Far From Home" from their s/t debut. Awesome. Amazon will give you a sample too.

They were;

"Fast" Eddie Clark (from Motorhead) on guitar, Jerry Shirley (from Humble Pie) on drums, Pete Way (from UFO) on bass and a young David King (now with Flogging Molly) on vocals.

Boy . . . . you pulled Fastway out of the archives!  I did introduce to my kids several years ago when they were into Flogging Molly by pulling out the old LPs.  They thought it was cool to see and hear "the old guy" in Flogging Molly.   Sigh . . . . . .

WOW, it's been a long time since I thought about or heard Fastway. Also enjoyed the song We Become One.

My friend and I used to chase a local band around and they played Fastway songs. The singer left this earth many years ago (my friend married the bass player). Thanks for the memories!
