Topic: Joe live on XM radio

On Saturday June 3rd at 10:00 pm ET Aaron Lee is going to start his show Stone Blue, which is a regular program on Bluesville XM channel 74, by playing some songs that Joe recorded live in the XM studios when he was there back in late January. Stone Blue is a 2 hour show devoted entirely to Rockin' Blues or Heavy Blues as Aaron would say. The show is repeated on Tuesday at midnight ET and Thursday at 1:00 pm ET. Joe is one of the artists that Aaron plays on a regular basis with recent shows including some songs from You and Me. Aaron has also done a really good job of mentioning the release of Joe's new CD and that's probably why he is going to start this weeks show with this live recording.

As far as what songs will be played, I believe it will be 2 or 3 songs from You and Me and I'm assuming that Mark and Bogie were there for the session but I don't know that for sure. Hopefully, these songs will become part of Bluesville's regular playlist as a "Live Blues Jam Session" as they say.

Re: Joe live on XM radio

Thanks for the heads up!

The blues isn't about a look or a specific sound, the blues is something deep within. But the sound doesn't hurt things, you know? ~ Ben Hernandez

Re: Joe live on XM radio

The setlist consisted of:

Bridge To Better Days
Blues Deluxe
Walk In My Shadows

Followed by the cut Your Funeral And My Trial from You And Me.

Total air time of about 25 min. By far the most time I've heard devoted to one artist on this program.

This was an excellent performance especially considering it was recorded back in late January. Mark and Bogie were solid and Joe's voice sounded fantastic. Of course, Joe's playing was outstanding - killer solos on both Blues Deluxe and Walk In My Shadows. It really sounded like the guys had been together longer than they had.

Nice job again by host Aaron Lee to get the word out about Joe and the new CD.

Thank you.  I was checking the forum at just the right time.  I signed up for the 3 day free trial and enjoyed the show. I will be looking for "You and Me" this week.  Yeah!
