Shameless plug for Rob Varmint's Rock & Blues Circus Award Nomination

Last year, those wonderful people at the Nottingham Blues Society ran the inaugural British Blues Awards.  These awards were phenomenally successful, galvanizing thousands of fans of our genre to vote and generally celebrate some of the finest musicians this country has.

Many of you will be aware that the Varmint Show threw our not inconsiderable weight behind the awards, emerging as the Sponsors of the "Guitarist of the Year" Award (won, incidentally by Matt Schofield, who we got to keep for the year - we created a special plexi-glass case for him, here at Varmint Towers, and sometimes we let him out to oil his frets ... but I digress).

Anyway, this year, the British Blues Awards have added a new award - British Blues Broadcast (e.g. Radio Show, Internet based radio show, Podcast or similar).  Hmmmmmmmm. Now, the Varmint Show is clearly NOT a Blues show (some would argue that it's not really a show at all), but, we have in our midst someone who runs a proper, pukka Blues show.  Step forward Rob Varmint, who moonlights on his lovely Rock & Blues Circus.

We think Rob is really deserving of a nomination for this award for the pleasure that this show brings to so many people. 

All jesting aside, it's a cracking show, put together with love (and sometimes liver & onions) and, has a genuine international following that means that it actually stands a chance of winning.

Now some of you may think that success would go to Rob's head (and don't think the rest of us Varmints haven't considered the prospect of having to call him "award-winning" and stuff), but imagine his little face if we don't at least try.  OK, hold that image ...

So, we've decided to take a proactive approach & launch a campaign to "Get the Rock & Blues Circus Nominated for British Blues Awards - Blues Show of the Year 2011" and we need your help.

All we need you to do is as follows;

If the nomination is successful, we can all take credit (I know I'm intending to describe myself as his Producer!) - if not, well, we throw him to the Wolves (Icon, at least, will get that one ... as will Glenn) - at least we tried.  It's a win-win!
