Tonight in Kansas City was honestly one of the best gigs I have ever been involved in... Also a 12 year old named Chris Freeman taught me a life lesson.. It was honestly the most generous and touching event of my life.. Thank you my friend... Enjoy the Fuzzface... Remember... all dials at maximum... I am playing the guitar you gave me as I type this.. It will be on many records.. Thank you.. watch your mail box..

Great show last night. Who was playing drums? Was it Jason Bonham?

Tal Bergman on drums.

Re: Kansas City

The concert was absolutely fantastic. The venue was the Midland Theatre, KC, MO. Great building - before the show started lots of people were taking pictures of the interior of the place.  Joe started a few minutes after 8:00 & simply played his **** off for about 2 hrs. The band was great and really tight - they all looked like they were having a blast. Joe talked to the audience a bit but mostly non-stop playing - didn't even stop to take a drink of water. His voice was outstanding and his guitar playing was beyond belief. He can do stuff with a guitar that I've never heard anybody do. We counted 11 guitars but there might have been more.  After the concert, about 25 people hung around by the buses by the back exit & after 15 - 20 minutes, Joe wandered up & started signing autographs, having his picture taken with some fans and shook hands & thanked us for coming. There were some people in their 20's and 30's in the audience but I bet 2/3rds were oldsters like me.  We kicked around the possibility of driving to the next concert to see him again. One of the coolest things I've ever done.  What a night!

Re: Kansas City

Last night's show at the Midland could'nt have been any better. Joe Bonomassa performed brilliantly and put the audiance in awe at his abilities with both his guitar and vocals. The band was justan extension of Joe, making it one of the best shows I have seen. Being a 50+ year old and having seen my share of classic rock and blues concerts, the one from last night has to top them all. The sound was unbveleivable, sitting only a few feet in front of the floor mounted base speakers, it reminded me of the old Memorex commercial as each note passed through me.
Joe, you did a great job and exceeded any expectations that I beleive anyone went in asking for. You are a true master and as I sit here at work with my newley purchased bobble head, I still hear your music from within. Thank you for the performance and expect my presence on each and every visit to KC.

Re: Kansas City

We figured out why Joe changes guitars so often.  They need to have the notes replaced.  Joe plays them all and uses them up!  Coolest thing we have seen in many years!!! Monumentally impressive.

Re: Kansas City

Actually a friend turned us on to Joe.  Then we saw Live at Albert Hall on Paladia and were hooked.  Then our local Public TV channel showed Albert Hall and half-way through it turned out to be a fund raiser.  They had 18th row tickets for a donation to the station.  We were on the phone before they could say Sloe Gin!  (By the way my husband's favorite from last night).  What a great night.  Anytime Joe comes close we are there!
Thanks for the warm forum reception

Re: Kansas City

Indescribable.  Must witness it for yourself.  Humble guy and a great band.

Re: Kansas City

I'm a new fan of Joe B.  First heard of him last year during a PBS fundraiser.  They showed his 09 Albert Hall Concert.  I bought the DVD, and then 2 tickets to the KC, MO show.

Incredible show..!!  It is so nice to see a great musical talent so eager & enthusiastic to share it with the audience, and have so much fun doing it.  I wish the audience would have been a bit less noisy during Woke Up Dreaming.

My friend M was blown away by the show.  He had never heard of Joe B.

You have 2 new fans, JB..!!

edit; would agree with other comments from new JB fans; the experience greatly exceed my expectations in every way.  In the office I keep going back to You Tube to see Woke Up Dreaming at the Albert Hall show.  Mesmerizing song....wow...  Have never seen anything quite like that.

Re: Kansas City

Back at work today, reminiscing about the awesome show at KC, MO last Thursday night.  48 years old, last concert was ZZ Top 20 years ago.  Drove 4 hours and spent money I really didn't have to go to this.  I was one of those people hanging around at the back door to see Joe and get him to sign my shirt, which he did and also graciously allowed a picture w/ him. Such a kind, generous, SUPER talented person. I hope he realizes how much joy he gives others through his music.  I just think I might go to a concert again next year......

Re: Kansas City

Fantabulous!!  Joe really brought it last thursday here in kansas city.  I think the encore really sweetened the deal.  His acoustic set was out of this world. He hit note after note effortlessly.  Rhythyms within rhythms. Two dimensions and planes of consciousness I could deal with but then he tore the lid off.  My only question is where does Joe go from here??  Into the stratosphere no doubt.
Thanks Joe for re-inspiring the passion for music in me and re-affirming the reality that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.  Oh yeah...anyone have a copy of the set list.  I would sure like to relive that night over and over.  thanks again bona-who...lol.

Re: Kansas City

The KC Midland show was wonderful. This was my second Joe show in K.C.  We saw Joe at the Grand Emporium about 2 years ago. Missed the Wichita show (the in between show in Kansas). Really nice to see Joe playing the nicer venues. The Grand Emporium had no seats, painted black walls, and smelled of stale beer! Was wall-to-wall people though and we stood close enough to the stage that I could have adjusted the controls on Joe's amps. For the Midland show I thought we drove quite a ways coming 2 hours to K.C...then talked to the couple beside us and found out they had driven down from South Dakota for an extended weekend!   Joe is always worth the trip.

Re: Kansas City

YES it certainly was more than worth the trip and $ spent, did not mean to imply otherwise in my earlier post.  I will definately see him again when he is in KC or closer , it was a beautiful area w/ so many friendly people on the street to talk to.  I get joy from his music because one minute I am smiling with tears running down my face from the sheer beauty of a song, the next minute jumpin' and dancin' around to a different song like I'm 25 again ( then my body says HEY!!!!  U R not 25, old girl) and also driving down the road, everybody's not a ******* idiot anymore cause his music makes me feel so good and I can forgive the person who just cut me off, pulled out in front of me, didn't use blinker, etc.  Just a simple country girl who LOVES JOE'S MUSIC and just discovered him about a year ago. Hey, has anyone thought of Bonafantabulous??  Hadn't seen that one yet !!!!  Envy all U lucky people who still get to see his show soon !!!!!!!!!
