That is such a cool story. When A Man Loves a Woman is one of the most powerful love songs out there, emotions runs so deep in that song. I'm sure you and your wife at some point saw the movie with Andy Garcia and Meg Ryan, where Meg is an alcoholic and Andy stands by her side through thick and thin.. Andy demonstrates the deepest of love for Meg, never gives up on lovin' her. Such a great chick flick (you need to watch, just once) and Andy is gorgeous in that movie!! Opening scene, you have to watch until the end to GET IT!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ_WAoCHfYU
Like the movie, in real life, I know a woman who is an alcoholic. When her husband was working the night shift, her drinking got out of control. As a functioning alcoholic, she held onto her day job, but hit rock bottom when she brought home a guy she met in a bar. (she doesn't even remember) She went cold turkey, when the love of her life gave her the ultimatum. She hasn't had a drink since.
So, just adding to your useless piece of trivia. I never hear that song, that I don't think of the woman I know and the movie and the power of LOVE!!!
Back to the topic, I'm a HUGE fan of "SICK IN LOVE"!!
When a Man Loves a Woman
Just a little anecdote. In the early 1980's, Percy Sledge who originally sang "When a Man Loves a Woman", lived in Baton Rouge, LA, my hometown. When my wife was in college there, she used to work part time as a bank teller and Percy would stop by once a month or so to deposit his royalty checks. She said he was a very nice man. Just another useless piece of trivia, but hope everyone has a happy valentines day.
As to the topic at hand:
It Must Be Love
Love in an elevator
Love, Love me do
Will you still love me, tomorrow?
