Topic: BCC Wolverhampton

Well here we are again, having just witnessed an awesome set from the guys in Wolverhampton tonight. 29/12/10

This is my first time at the venue and the sound/acoustics was exceptional.

Support act was Joanne Shaw Taylor, who was very good, not many women about playing lead rock guitar licks, personally enjoyed her, but felt she was drowned out a bit by the bass and drums, all in all she was excellent. (great reception from the crowd)

As for Joe, Glenn, Derek and Jason, thank you for your first BCC gig in the UK.

This is how ROCK should be played, from start to finish this gig rocked the house down.

3000 people cannot be wrong, we met some very good folk tonight, AdieJ has the official set list, which he will post soon, with some footage too from the gig. (nice to have met you, also to the couple from Crewe, who sat next to us.) Hope to see you at the next gig.

BCC started off with Black Country, ran through the current CD and as added extras featured BOJH, No Quarter, Medusa and finished up with Burn.

I would like to personally thank Kevin Shirley for hearing / seeing and believing in putting this quartet together, you can understand why he is so much in demand for his abilities to bring out the best in the bands.

Roll on the summer next year for the next installment in the life of a middle aged couple blown away with musical happiness.

Regards
Michael/Julie

Yes you're right Rick, the sound is really good on that video. I'm sure we'll see a few more in the days ahead! smile

Re: BCC Wolverhampton

Hi Michael & Julie / (kohoutek) !!

I'm Libby the female half of the couple from Crewe who sat next to you last night & my OH is John. My youngest son was also with us.

Well as you say, the 3000 people at Wolves Civic had an absolute blast... as did the guys on stage!

For me, even though he was far more reserved than at his solo gigs, Joe stole the show; it's hard not to when you can play like he can! But the whole band were excellent; fantastic playing & energy.

I thought they might introduce Kevin Shirley at the end but maybe he's shy?

Looking forward to the new material & to seeing BCC again next year.

All the best & Happy New Year

Libby & John

Re: BCC Wolverhampton

10/10.

Glenn Hughes' voice popped one of my ears...quite literally...

Re: BCC Wolverhampton

Hi Adie!

Are you the guy from the balcony who photographed the set list I was trying to read?

We all had a ball too - what a gig - I'm still on a high from last night!

Hope you had a good journey back to Cornwall and thanks for the vid uploads; have been watching them today.

All the very best & Happy New Year,

Libby

Hi Libby,
Yes, that was me! The photo came out quite well, too!
I had an easy journey back home today, thanks. Have been busy uploading vids and pics this afternoon. Search me out on FBook (Adie Jones) and you can see my photo-set from the show.
Happy New Year.
Best regards,
Adie.
