Duncan posted the news on FB, Cathy saw it and phoned me, I felt like I had been punched in the gut.
This man's music has been a part of my life since 1967, when Safe as Milk really blew my mind, to use a prevalent cliche of the time.
I'll post some links once I've worked through some serious memories....

Gutted, saw him in Liverpool at the stadium way back when. He turned a few heads then I can tell you!
Always sad to hear of someone passing. I have a memory of the Captain.... sadly, it's not a good one, so i'll just say RIP.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news George. I saw the news on a friend's page when I logged in last night. Good to see he had fans on the forum.

Thanks for digging up those links Greenose. I'd forgotten how very cool Click Clack was. He took the Blues to another dimension. Driving and rolling complexities of the rhythm structure made you wonder how the band kept up. He and Zappa are jamming right now.

Sigh, another real artist bites the dust. Rick, I have doubts Don and Frank are jamming at all. I think they might be playing checkers or chess and joking it up, one of their favorites being saying, in various incarnations, followed by game diverting rollicking laughter, "Look at all those ******* idiots down there"!!! 
But...
A big snort of Lick My Decals Off, Baby has never worn off in influence on me....

This afternoon as I drove across town listening to the music and arts segment on NPR, A short tribute to the man and a sign off tune: Lick My Decals Off. Baby! A most fitting epitaph.
