I heard that this morning. Unfortunately, people with that type of cancer don't have a very good track record. Lets say a prayer that the "Queen of Soul" sticks around with us a while longer.

hey nineteen, that's Retha Franklin.....very sad to hear but has anyone officially confirmed that's what it is? her camp has managed to stay pretty tight-lipped about it. we'll put her on the prayer list as well, but hope that the diagnosis is something else.

I thought I heard that she was doing better. If it's pancreatic cancer then that's not good. She's been the Queen of Soul to me since I was a child.

Aretha is the best woman singer ever. We all hope for her speedy recovery. She is is fighter and will be back to sing again.. all our thoughts and prayers are with her. I mean its the undisputed queen of all music..

I love Aretha dearly and hope and pray for wellness. Lord knows she's provided me with much for my wellness throughout the years. I can't hold back the tears.

Great News - just as I suspected, the media got us again. She has now stated that no family member told anyone about her having pancreatic cancer, and that the operation she had was a complete success. Her doctor has stated it might even give her an extra 10 to 15 years above ground. She's got her weight down too.
viva Aretha, long live the Queen! now I just gotta find some tickets, never seen her LIVE.

That's horrible news for anybody. I wish her well. The good thing is, is that is the slowest moving cancer there is and I would bet unless they caught it late she'll be able to fight it back to good health.
