That would be James Dylan, the lead singer... I recognize the screen name from the Virtual Zeppelin videos.  smile

I edited an embedded intro on too late. Give me the link so I can go flame him.  Please post my video there which is now marked and see what they say. And thanks for the compliment. It was my first ever upload of my own work. I just went and checked his channel and it is my own work. Sad when an artist has to steal to massage his ego. Here is a link to my stolen video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4Q6_R8i1Kk
give him a nice review for me.  mad My channel name is Elexmage

I checked some of the spots and compared it to yours and they look the same.  Double check me though.

If the lead singer of the band took your video and posted it, I'd consider that a compliment, Rick.  He wouldn't be trying to pass it off as his own video, considering he's the one on stage.  By adding it to his own YouTube channel, it's getting more attention than it would've otherwise.  I agree some credit would be nice though.

The compliment is a back handed slap to me! The man is scum in my book and a common thief. Why not just post the link to my work instead of ripping and reposting so it appears on his channel?

Hmm, maybe because he has 2100+ subscribers that he wanted to see the video?  This is the way most performers collect good video representations of their work, from fans.  Your video is the featured video on his channel right now... you should be flattered, not offended.  Credit is always nice, but really it doesn't mean anything to anybody but you, no offense.  And from a legal standpoint, once you post something, it's public domain.

Would it not work the same to tag it as a favorite link on his channel? Sure would be easier. I'll be sure to embed watermarks in all my videos in the future. I never thought my first ever video would be ripped.

Pretty sure subscribers only get notified of new uploads, not new favorites... I meant to mention that before.  Also, by making it his own upload, he can change the description to include the full band credits, copyright disclosures, etc... you'll notice the same thing on all the fan videos he has uploaded.  Yeah I know, one more credit to the videographer and maybe a link to his or her channel would be nice... maybe you should contact James Dylan directly and suggest that little addition to his uploads?  I still wouldn't consider your video ripped though, as he's obviously not trying to take credit for it.  I'm assuming you took the video and uploaded it for people to see this band, and now lots more people will see it than would've otherwise... you should be happy about that.  But I'll back my nose out of it now... I was only trying to help by pointing out some things I figured you hadn't considered as a new uploader.  Live and learn I guess.  But bottom line, it's a great video.

I looked at the more info page and found this little disclaimer:

** The use of any copyrighted material is used under the guidlines of "fair use" in tittle 17 § 107 of the United States. Such material remains the copyright of the original holder and is used here for the purpose of education, comparison, and criticism only. No infringement of copyright is intended.

Not taking credit but would be nice when the credits are listed to put the original fan/poster on that list as TDV had said.

That disclaimer is referring to the copyrighted music they're playing and to any copyrighted material appearing on their big screen.  Rick never copyrighted his video, it's public domain.

Bottom line. Jamie responded to my complaint, Friended me, subscribed to my channel and offered passes to his shows in the future. Now that is a bit better.  smile I realize the stuff is out there in the public domain but an ack on a hit would be sweet from time to time. I take it all back. He's a star.

Re: Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience

Interesting stuff - I saw Zeppelin a couple of times in the 70's - my brother used to play guitar in a Zeppelin tribute band - here's a vid from 2005 - Heartbreaker:

Re: Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience

Nice article. I got a fair video of Jason doing the Moby D*ick drum solo with his dad. Look in the  drummers corner thread, for the link.
I'll say again, if the show comes near any of you, go see it if you like Zep. Just a real fun experience and good music too.
Thanks #1KYfan, Rock on tonight!

Wasn't sure if I should post this article in BCC thread or here.  Nice memory tidbits from Jason and did talk about the JBLZE.
