Topic: Durham, NC - 11/20/10

The show at the DPAC is about upon us here in NC.  Only 3 tickets left!!! This is really amazing compared to the first time that we saw Joe at the Lincoln theatre in Raleigh back in 2003. Just a couple hundred folks in attendance and now selling out big theatres!  That was our third or fourth time of seeing Joe back then.  Greatness indeed...

Who all from the forum are coming?

I will be there with my nephew in section 4 row G seats 207 and 208. On 11-19-10 i will be at the Virginia Beach show
rowJ seat 111. I saw Joe play Virginia Beach in july 2007 at a small club call Thw Jewish Mother before a crowd of
about 100.I was standing next to Dave his guitar tech and got to see him preparing Joe's Guitars between songs.
This was the onlytime i saw him play "Burning Hell" on the Gibson Prototype Skylark.

I will be there in Section 3 Row J. Like others I saw Joe at the Lincoln Theater. Got tickets when they went on sale and it has been a long wait. I am ready to get Blue and Evil!!!

What sucks is he does not get any air play on the stations I listen to around here. I call and email the rock stations ask ing to hear something from Joe to no avail. Anyone know a station in Raleigh that plays some Bonamassa music. I gues it is OK as I have most of his CD's, but I would like others to hear what he can do. See you everyone at the show!!!

Re: Durham, NC - 11/20/10

The show last night was epic for Durham, NC since over 2,000 attended, a far cry from the early days! Really nice theatre and the sound was good. We were getting the sound off the stage since we were sitting a couple of rows back from the stage.  The show was full speed ahead when Joe opened with Cradle Rock and finished with Just Got Paid.  Setlist below. My wife and the Carmona's had a nice drive to the venue, only two hours away, and arrived around four. Got to spend time with Joe, Warren and Bogie before the show, really nice catching up with them, but they are knackered from traveling so much.  Had Joe sign my Crossroads Litho and showed him Bloodline Tour book. Nice to see Joe's mouth for a change!   Back to the show, it started right at 8:00 pm sharp and ending a little after 10:00 pm.  It is a cliche but it seems that each gets better and better.  Nice  change to the setlist, and little changes in some of the songs.  All the band was very tight and having a lot fun.  Bogie was having a blast in NC it seems and Carmine was exceptional, could really hear the base lines very nicely.  Rick was rock solid as ever, but no backing vocals and no budda!  After the show got to catch with Carmine and Rick, such nice guys!

It was really nice seeing a lot of familiar fans and meeting new ones as well like Roy (Vortex), Jon, Vance, Jeff, John and etc.....  I really believe that the early street members has had an impact to the swelling crowds. Hats off to the Street Teamers!!!

Setlist:
Cradle Rock
So Many Roads
When the Fire Hits The Sea
SILT
Heartaches
Slow Train
Steal Your Heart Away
Sloe Gin
Ballad of John Henry
Happier Times
Never Make Your Move to Soon
Great Flood
Young Man Blues
Woke Up Dreaming
Mountain Time
Encore:
Bird On A Wire
Just Got Paid

Another show under the belt and Greenville to come!!!

Thanks for the review, sorry I missed the show!  Fortunately I was able to sell my tickets to a nice Bona-virgin couple and they were blown away (of course wink )  Did you get any photos?

The DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center) Durham NC show was a packed house ....
Excellent acoustics and sound quality , needless to say Joe answered all questions about his claim to the Blues Throne.
He showed incredible technique, content and showmanship for a night that will be long remembered.
I tried to write down songs in order .. will come back later with a list of what I can identify.

DPAC was the Albert Hall of NC last night...... exceeded all my expectations!

( A few of us, guitarists, are contemplating a bonfire of our guitars as our confidence has been shattered ..... >>>
